    Omg I thought it was just me ironing my boxes to make them sharp and crisp exactly how you said I actually have a damp cloth a tiny bit damp. It makes my other boxes from other companies stand out. ☺️

      Yep, it's a technique I know a few toy dealers have employed over the years, especially with vintage Star Wars toys. If it works, why not?🙂

    Fabulous. I have maybe 8 modern day Matchbox cars and here you are with pristine Matchbox classic toys AND you have collections beyond diecast models.
    Wow!

      I guess it's all down to patience and getting a bit lucky at toy fairs and online. I like to collect lots of different things👍

    Use canned air spray under pressure etc. The tooth brush is well in danger of damaging the brilliant paint schemes.

      @JulesBurt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Understood, although the bristles on the toothbrush are so soft now as I've been using it for years, I can't see it affecting the paintwork even if I tried.👍

    still got my and my brothers old matchbox toys. in a wooden garage my grandad made for us. nieces and nephews play with them now. 😊. condition of them all, I would describe as extremely well played with

    • @JulesBurt
      @JulesBurt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's so cool. I really wish I had kept all my original ones so my boy could have enjoyed them, not that he went short mind you! He had loads when he was growing up. Condition not an issue when they're still being enjoyed👍🙂

    Great to see, thank you. I still have some of the Matchbox cars however they are still played with. I also have some yellow Matchbox track to put the cars on. This was a track my dad brought home for me. A customer of my dad’s was emigrating to Australia and they gave it to him in the late 70s / early 80s. It is a great track we still use today.

    I’ve got about 20 vintage matchbox I think they’re called superfast what gets me is there so much smaller than I remember as a child? Also I’ve got some matchbox made during the 90s and 2000s interesting video

    • @JulesBurt
      @JulesBurt  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks! The cars seem smaller because your hands got bigger. It's an interesting phenomena 🙂 the Superfast we're late sixties and early seventies. Little treasures if those are you original ones.

      Thanks Chris! I thought this might appeal mate. These were widely sold in the USA so pretty easy to find online. Not overly expensive to collect, if you're ok with mint loose examples and a lot of fun. A nice change to vintage paperbacks 🙂👍

    I had a ton of Matchbox cars as a kid. My fave was the Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am.

  • @sylvanyoung

    Great ! Love it . My first die cast was a Matchbox . Thoes were the days we threw away the boxes 🙄😥 And staged crashes , wrecks and played these to distruction . Anyhow mayhaps it is better to have played and distroyed ( money now lost ) than never to have played . I wish my ' Back To The Furture ' model was full scale . Lol . I would go back in time and preserve all my toys. Lol . Mayhaps a camel hair lens brush may be safer to clean with ? . Thank you for sharing these along with your memories .

      @JulesBurt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cheers Sylvan! Yes, I think we all wish we had a time machine! The toothbrush is incredibly soft so no harm coming to the models but I've acquired some new tools lately so watch this space? Glad you enjoyed this one🙂👍

    My first toys were matchbox in 1983 they were still using a card board box at that time used to go in Tesco with my mom they were a pound each so thay had gone up a little bit from the 75 think my first one was a red plane with folding Wings there was a couple of different ones

    • @JulesBurt
      @JulesBurt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ah yes, you got the very final ones released in boxes. The plane with the folding wings in quite near the end, number 27F Swing Wing F 14 Tomcat I think. look that one up on eBay, not too expensive. 👍
