These days, I often wish that 2003 didn't have to be the year, in which the golden outline of the puzzleboard, left us for good. That's what made me so enamored by the atmosphere of what happens when a contestant solves the puzzle, and so much more.
If notice when they took the show to San Diego only the bottom part of the gold outline is on the board but the rest was not. Word is it broke en route which is why for season 21 they had updated the outline to the lights they have been using since around the board
