It was a couple months ago that someone on these blogs said that Los Angeles / California was going to have the worst wild fire problem ever this summer and fall.

There are a few reasons (coming from a resident) It's because these hills are very steep, it's away from a lot of things and is a hassel to drive out to, the roads are very windy and unsafe, the lanscape is dry and desert like, and its on the Los Angeles National forest.
They should burn. That is how California tree sprouts and grow. There is an entire study on brush fire in California. Letting small brush burn is the right move. In the 90s, we put out every single small brush fire. Eventually, a huge portion of forest became flammable. Once a fire starts, it'll just quickly become gigantic wild fires. You can look at sequoias tree life cycle. Their seed needs fire to sprout. If we can, we should let fire naturally burn, small portion at a time. Fire is part of ecology. Sequoias are also extremely fire resistant. So having more of these will naturally stop wild fires.
@@stanley19430 YES YOU ARE RIGHT BUT the ruff fire was not a small brush burn and the national park service let it burn for 9 days before they even thought about putting it out ...
@@donaldgarin1938 Yes, current policy is to just let it burn as much as we can. Once the area is burnt, it won't start again for years. As long as it doesn't spread too close to home, we should continue to let nature do its things. Or else, come in August to November, those areas will become highly flammable adding on top of all the flammable areas. Due to our policy of putting out every flame in California in the 90s, there are unbalanced amount of flammable areas that are due for a fire. So we should let it burn as much as we can before fire season starts.
@@stanley19430 Well of course it is YOUR POLICY to let burn why not... the taxpayers pay for it. I heard that before in the ruff fire that destroyed so much property and so many business in the ruff fire and guess what the people that lost all there things got fucked in the ass. because of stupid government policies.. POLICIES destroy so many lives ..

These pilots are awesome.
This is the best possible scenario for a brush fire; right next to a reservoir.

California does have money for firefighters. It all goes to buying drugs, smokes, booze and hotels for homeless people.
