Neck and Shoulder Pain Relief

    Nagging neck or shoulder pain is a common problem for people who do computer work all day. Often- the fix is easier than you think. If you're watching this video and you have tightness across your upper back...neck pain and shoulder pain...OR even numbness/tingling down one or both arms- try the relief test. When we sit with our arms hanging by our side- we place tension on the muscles and nerves that connect our shoulders to our neck. The constant weight of this along with gravity can can leave our shoulders, upper back, and neck feeling achy and tired. With your arms by your side- get a sense of what you're feeling. Then support your arms on a table and relax- now how do things feel? Try turning your head side to side and you may notice that it feels less tight and uncomfortable. Why does this matter? Well- apply the same concept to everyday life. If you work at a computer, raise your armrests so that you relieve pressure on the shoulders and neck. If your armrests don't raise or you have trouble sitting and driving- use a pillow or two to support your arms throughout the day. Sometimes just a little relief can go a long way. Hope this helps.
