    Another great review Mr Lloyd. Rover 45s are seriously good value.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They certainly are! Apart from the V6 models, most are worth under £1000 these days, although I have seen dealers attempt to charge insane prices of up to £3000 for mint low mileage ones (they aren't worth that much).

    Who's a happy Boy this morning? This is so quiet. The suspension seems wafty, well appointed, lovely wood. Colour chrome and wheels go together very well. My Mechanic's favourite was the 1.8 turbo in his Rover 75. It gave him no trouble.
    Lovely big Ram Pickup in the background at about 14 minutes. Bit more challenging to park than a Rover 45 though. Thanks Jude.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, very good suspension, early MG Rover era, so wooden door caps, no Project Drive influence and 75 style seats. They aren't that common in this colour either... They were planning on putting the 1.8 turbo in the 45/ZS, but it never happened, sadly.
      Yes, the Ram would definitely have been more difficult to park than this! Thanks Jude, Thude...

    45’s as far as the eye can see, it’s interesting to see how many models, trims etc exist, thank you Joseph

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I can't work out how they came up with so many trim levels on the pre-facelift cars in just four years, but there we go! We must now have more 45s on here than anyone else!

    Rover 45s always put a smile on my face too Joseph. which is why i picked up a nice 1 owner 2002 model today from Madrid for under £600! The Spanish ULEZ equivilant is driving out the older cars from large cities and there are some bargains out there

      Oh no, not Ultra Low Emission and Clean Air Zones in Spain as well! This is quite an old video now, hence the appalling thumbnail.

    Good review!I owned one in Tahiti Blue for 7yrs.It had optional leather pack,and winter pack.(headlamp washers,Heated seats,and front fogs).It was a great car that unfortunately got flood damaged! The story doesnt end there though as i own 2 1.8 connissiour saloons a 2000 B.R.G with rare Catkin Green interior and a 2003 Seafrost blue one that ive fitted the earlier Walnut facia etc in.Keep the good reviews coming and i could be wrong but the colour of your one may be Midnight Blue..

      Thank you, Bruce! This is not my car, but it is one of many, many Rover 45s we have had on the channel. My own one is a rare 2003 45 2.0 V6 Connoisseur in Starlight Silver which has been on the channel (and many other channels) many, many times. I think we may be having yet another 45 coming up soon too! I am glad you enjoyed the video.

    A good review as usual Joseph.Australia got the Rover 75.Why we didn't get this I don't know.I wish we did.

    • @PhysicsAirline
      @PhysicsAirline 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Likewise, I would love a Rover 45 in Australia.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know why Rover chose not to market this in Australia, but did offer the 75. That is something of a mystery, particularly as this is easier to find parts for, being Honda Civic based.

    Are my eyes deceiving me I can somewhat see a bit of influence of this shape in the BMW E46 especially when you filmed the side profile.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The shape was essentially designed in the early 1990s well before the advent of the E46, so I don't think that is a direct influence, but you can see inspiration from the 75 in the frontal aspect, no doubt about it. The front end does sort of look a bit like a BMW, I suppose.

    I see its history with Matt's 214 Rover Cabriolet; if you look carefully, you see both vehicles are similar, they look like twins! I do like this in hatchback form, very nice, versatile. Hopefully the air conditioner does not need re-gassing.
    I'm very impressed with the vehicles you have in the UK 🇬🇧!
    I do hope that you revisit this vehicle once properly taxed. Oh, and before I forget, LOW MILEAGE. I can see with a bit of work this would really look very, very nice !
    A great review as always Joseph!

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 45 and the old Rover Cabriolet are similar, but not exactly the same. The suspension system is not particularly different, as both are essentially 1990s Honda Civic based, and as Mr Richardson's is a later Cabriolet, the dashboard is shared with the HH-R 400/45's little sister, the R3 200/25. Not sure what Jude's plans are with this one, it may be moving on soon, sadly. Glad you enjoyed it!

      @@lloydvehicleconsulting While driving, and getting a side view, I could see the similarities of the 214 and this 45; even the taillamps look familiar!

      @@frothe42 , yes, they do have a bit of a common design language, but I don't any of the body panels are shared, for example.

      @lloydvehicleconsulting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the velour seats were similar in Ian Seabrook's 45 V6 Club! I did like them. Very rare to have plush non-leather seats like this in the car. Thank you again for watching!

    Very enjoyable vid Joseph! That 45 does look in good condition, it’s the same colour as the MGF I had as well, it looks black but my V5 said it was Grey.
    Is the step speed/steptronic box the same CVT box as fitted to my 200 R3 do you think?
    The 45 hatchback is probably the one I would go for, for more rear loading height reasons mainly.
    Jude does seem to have a small fleet of Rovers now, great stuff!

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The CVT gearbox fitted to an R3 is similar, although I think the Stepspeed has more "ratios" programmed into it. The hatchbacks tend to be cheaper to buy and they are easier to load, although the saloon has outright more boot space. You are right, it looks black, but the V5 says grey. Glad you enjoyed it, sir!

    Just out of curiosity can someone say what engines to avoid or fuel as in what's with the diesels as google isn't doing me any favours as I saw a rover 45 04 2.0 diesel that looks like this 1.8 model but you made it clear diesels were to be avoided

    • @johnbrereton5229
      @johnbrereton5229 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Rover diesel is in fact very reliable and like all diesels very economical engine, but a bit noisy and unrefined. I expect that's why he doesn't like them, I'm not a great diesel fan myself either.
      But I love the Rover K series engine, I've had three of them, one 1.1 and two 1.4 .

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We don't talk about diesels on this channel due to all the controversial government legislation, Clean Air Zones, Low Emission Zones, ban on pure combustion engines coming in from 2030 and this has been the case since the first ever video on the channel (I think that I have done 650 since) three years ago. It also is an in joke.
