Seeing that someone tagged these beautiful machines just breaks my heart
The fact that childish gang member fools tag anything in public breaks my heart.
luckily im sure they can easily be cleaned up with some alcohol wipes and elbow grease 💪💪💪
@@TheRandomGuy570gonna draw some graffiti later today just because you said that, hope you’re happy with yourself.
@@bakasta5992 I am very happy with myself as a matter of fact.
I wouldn’t be mad if someone took the old computers to keep since that preserves and saves them, but when people just ruin them for no reason, I absolutely hate that.
Wow. This is a retro computers on I486 or I386, I286 CPU's. They cost a lot. You turned on that pc with 33 mhz clock. That probably I486DX-33 back from 1990.
No, they don't "cost a lot", but they are quite collectable and can be sold for some cash.
@@iscander_s I am not from US, I am from low GDP country, here even 120$ a lot of money, but they can be sold up to 500$ (depends on rarity).
@@iscander_sexactly there very niche so that’s why people sell them for a lot there not worth a lot there just sold for a lot
Hey mate! My dad found a 386 in the garbage, powered it on and it does the beeping like on the 2nd startup, does that mean it works? (Dont have cables to display it yet)
That sound indicates that there is no video card or the video card has failed.
someone probs stole it so they dont have to suffer any longer with integrated graphics
@@cunnieseverywhere Modern day integrated graphics are far better than the graphics cards in that
Make sure to try to erase the names off of the monitor. It breaks my heart seeing these monitors vandalized.
@@Crediu well atleast you can still buy it. If you couldn't it would be hard. It doesn't matter if it's expensive or not, because atleast it still exists
I bet the people who scratch their names on there are hella annoying
I bet they're less wasteful and would appreciate these computers more then the poeople who left them, they probably didnt have access to computers growing up and these people just leave them like their garbage.
@@mikejones-vd3fgAbandoning things is less wasteful than scratching n spray painting your name on them, now theyve made it useless for the person who finds this treasure 😢
@@mikejones-vd3fgNo they are not less wasteful, if anything they have ruined it for the person who finds this treasure, at least the original people left it in good condition for someone to find.
@@mikejones-vd3fg Almost every kid that went to public school in the mid 90s or later had access to computers. Clinton and Gore pushed hard for computers and internet to be integrated into education.
I’m amazed the building has power still
Imagine using dial up there and forgetting to close the connection. The phone bills would be huge!
@@RedTroPcI believe the connection will hang after some time anyway, there should be some timeout. Remember those modems were quite unstable anyway.
I believe it's a decay prevention measure. Power means stuff like climate control, which helps clamp down on moisture, mold, etc.
I hope that it stays that way forever I would hate for someone to destroy that time capsule.
Damn, I remember that old 2 beeps followed by 8 beeps code. Back in the day, as a teen when I just tinkered with computers I had an custom-built 386 that did the same thing. Can't even remember what it was but it was a big undertaking to repair. I never found out what was wrong with it and it later ended being e-cycled. It lived a long time though.
THOSE ARE SO COOL! oh my god I wish I could manage to get one of those old desktops. I know they aren't really rare, but they're neat.
One of these pc on I486DX-33. That 1990. I have only soket7 + AMD K6-200ALR retro pc in my collection.
Teachers :the school computers are fine.
The school computers
You know my school PCs are still running windows 7, But the stickers on them say windows 10 pro, Meaning they downgraded the PCs
For what reason? 🏴☠️
@@gravewolf_official windows 7 is unsafe since its not getting security updates anymore, ur school is dumb lol
@@gravewolf_official The school would need to buy a group licensed version of windows 10. But if they continue using windows 7 licenses from the old computers then they don't have to pay.
I would have just grabbed all of em. If it‘s abandoned, nobody wants em. Ergo, free.
@@shed_dc Yes. And they‘re just sitting there. Unloved, soiled by graffiti. Without purpose. And honestly i doubt that this person took them all.
@@shed_dc He doesn't mean "nobody wants them" in the context of everyone on the planet, he means any original owner that abandoned them doesn't want them, which makes them essentially salvage and a free for all for someone to claim.
PC's in my school be like
I wish I could go back to the the good'ol dayz when we had 90s school's with these Computers. (Back when PC's were called Computer's.
Screw the person who tagged those retro masterpieces 😭
To think, there was a time those were state of the art and exciting to operate. Old stuff and history are pretty amazing 😊
It’s like a time capsule
It seems way too clean to be "abandoned", don't you think?
The first CRT is too modern, and also notice the more modern HP printer and that tower PC under the desk ;)
Time to do some retro gaming on an old research computer.
Judging by the BIOS beeps, that computer is not operational at all, and would need significant reseating of cards, motherboard cleaning, and lots of other stuff to work properly again. Plus, the HDD is probably dead.
@@milesrn2312 I’m just a computer guy, the uploader probably doesn’t want you to know any of this though. The whole watchability of the video relies on the fact that the computers still work.
I've accessed 20-25 year old HDD, they don't usually magically die. While improbable, it is possible that some of these machines didn't even have a HDD. Floppy drives do tend to have issues though.
MB probably has plenty of dust that should be cleaned off, but that usually wouldn't prevent the machine from powering on. Reseating the cards and chips is not a significant issue.
It is possible that the MB or one of the cards, including video card, could need to be recapped. CMOS battery is dead and hopefully didn't leak all over the MB. I think many of these machines had switched to using coin cells but don't recall if they changed that then or waited until after Pentiums were released.
I'm not sure how durable the CRTs are, but the desktops probably have VGA on board or VGA cards.
@@mikechappell4156 yeah (although I’ve seen many a 20 year old HDD die) the point still stands that the computers don’t work.
Those beeps are error codes indicating they aren't quite working.
Chances are the CMOS battery has died and the BIOS has lost its settings, the power switches in these old PC's were mechanical and cut off power to the entire system.
Why would they leave everything ??!!
I would love to get the job to clean out the labs
I wouldn't usually consider robbery but for things like this that need to be preserved, I may.
Anyone remember when those AOL trial software CD’s were mailed out & were in our races at nearly every store with an electronics &/or musical department 😅 graduated from floppies & were able to have dial up AT HOME if affordable & if there was a computer lol 😂
My parent’s (now “Stone Age lol JK) old shed has 2 rooms. Smaller one was my jam our room. The silly FREE AOL TRIAL SOFTWARE DISCS ARE STILL THERE! Dusty, but no scratches; flipped on over & no dust. They look BRAND NEW! A step back in time. 😊 thanks for sharing this! Brought back tons or memori😊
That 2nd computer was like "OH MY GOD I THOUGHT I WOULD NEVER GET USED AGAIN! Time to celebrate! Beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep!"
It is an error message that say the video card has not been found. The machine is dying.
ngl, this is some Portal shit right here
There’s something so intriguing about hardware and computers that’s decades older than you
All of those computers sending out post code beeps, practically begging the camera guy to save them 😢
Did you know that really old keyboards head up to the F24 key which is still compatible for new software which is useful four companies to make Keys without having to add more Keys to the code A keybind that is used open an AI on Windows is alt control F23

nah, those beeps are a type of error. if we knew what motherboard it had, we could look up what that beepcode represents.
He turn on all the computers, but the real question is did he turn them off after he left?
That first pc got the same keyboard as mine. Amazing keyboard
I'm 12 years old and I find this old type of stuff interesting to look at and it also makes me want to collect stuff like this
Why someone tagged on their screens
I love these retro machines, I'm really a big fan of that 80/90s technology and it's just disgusting that some idiots vandalized them.
That 33 mhz 486 machine with side mounted drive look beautiful with that green display
Casually a 2004 era hp printer among the ancient 90s and prior desktops
May be there it is an IBM typewriter? They had a RS232 port and could be drived as a daisy printer. We had one sometime back in 1991 or so, but we returned it to the seller with the IBM PS20 computer, because the price, and worked with a cheaper Mannesmann with parallel port, and a Handok 386SX computer with an unforgotable Goldstar monochrome monitor. Great times!
The people who marked these mashines is menace to soceity
Oh, what's this red button?
"Nuclear launched"

that 33 means it is running at 33 Mhz, memories...
My first experience with a computer was around 5 years old. We had a 66 mhz family computer in the 90s. Then came the pentium 233 in the late 90s which I used to play the hell out of some diablo 2 and starcraft.

...and an IBM Wheelwriter typewriter - I had one of these on my bench.

they dont work, thats why it is beeping too much. the beeping is a post error, due to bad cpu, ram or gpu

The FNAF security guard’s gamer setup

I wouldn’t quite call that “still working,” lol! It’s throwing an error for a missing or failed graphics card. Rest of the computer may still work though, if it got far enough for that error.
The gangs painted the screen but not destroyed? This is a miracle
