  • I finally did it I made the duck hunter 3000 again. This overly elaborate primitive trap was on of the key Components to my staying feed and well during that 87 days Alone in Patagonia. This is a grate primitive fish trap that will get your line out further into the water with little effort once it is built. I have always loved building primitive traps and while i was on History's Alone show i combine manny traps together at timesto create my own new creations. I never wanted to be a survival Expert or anything I just Study was bushcrafting and primitive traps as a way to the rodents that got into my garden. And this primitive fish trap was the combination of many ideas I had over the years. Primitive skills combine with the recourses at hand were a key part of my survival strategy out there in Patagonia. Primitive traps also provided A big part in my entertainment. Designing and redesigning primitive traps In primitive fish traps To keep my mind occupied Made it easier to be alone.

I vouched for you from the beginning of season 3. My dad and I follow the show pretty intensely, us being avid outdoorsman. I always thought that the skill of the competitors did not matter if one could not occupy their time day to day. I think you effectively did just that. I will always look back to season 3 of alone as a showcase to survivng alone in the wilderness.

Very cool to see how you actually built the "Duck Hunter"!!! I'm not knocking the other participants of the Alone series. Most all of them have been very knowledgeable and resourceful. I'm a huge fan of Alan Kay among others. But you, sir, have out shined them all so far. Very, very clever and resourceful. You're a very smart dude. Also, you live in paradise man. Absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

People are going to complain if you talk too much and people are going to complain if you don't talk enough. You can't win that one so you be yourself. Then if they like you great, if not then who cares, as their opinions obviously weren't worth your time.
Your videos are excellent and I find myself learning a lot from them which I really can't say about very many channels so you keep up the good work.

Be careful of your fingers - you only have those 10 Fowler and no money can replace them having those. Thanks for the inspiration.
You know those spades are actually also made in titanium in Russia but I'm not sure how well they work. If they have less weight that would maybe make it less effective as an axe but maybe they would keep and edge better, dunno. I have one of those Spades myself as you have, but I have not used it much - but your really showing of how valuable it can be.
I tend to break things when I'm digging but it looks like that spade would be able to handle it.

I think with longer paddles you could get it out farther. Or forgo the paddles as they cause drag and just shove it out with a long pole. Regardless, genius idea.
