I love your videos! Never thought I would meet someone else who loves the texture of fabric as much as me! I have been sewing for 50 years, and I still get excited over the right piece of fabric! Beautiful work!
Its great to see someone using thrift store finds! There are lots of good things we can find and use to upcycle and the items that are created are generally beautiful. I hate to see people waste or think they are to good to go thrifting. Thrift stores are for folks that have money and those that don't have as much. It all is helping out someone else or organization when we patronize these stores. And just look at the beautiful creation you have already started with your finds. Can't wait to see your next video. TFS God Bless you and yours...
Totally agree about reusing/ recycling. I'm a fan of keeping old buttons and lace. People didn't go to store to make a quilt it was a way to use up scraps. I'm amazed at the cost of some craft items, when you could do a lot with old magazine photos and newspaper and just tea stain them.
I'm so glad I found you! I have been wanting to try to make a journal. You've inspired me with your love of buttons and lace! I'm excited for you on finding the tin with buttons in it!!!!! I think I'll go thrifting tomorrow! Thanks for inspiring me !
Nazy - I just wanted to say that I enjoy your videos. I can't understand why anyone would be so cruel as to give you a thumbs down for sharing your ideas and process. I think your videos are so refreshing and you have so many innovative ideas. Thank you so much for sharing and being who you are - friendly, kind, creative, generous, etc.
Just wanted to say that the tin from England is a picture of an Oast House, they are for drying hops for beer. You see these all over Kent, which is known as the garden of England. Most fresh produce in markets in London and the south east of England is grown in Kent. A lot of the oast houses are now large homes, but they keep the roof the same so these are a familiar sight and very attractive. I love being from the south east of England! There is just so much lovely countryside in England yet unless you visit I'd imagine most people think of London as typically English. Luckily most of the country is NOT like London... Although London has it's charm and history. I love our castles and Tudor buildings. Anyway I'm rambling now LOL. But yeah, the tin is an Oast House on a hop farm. xxxxx
Looooove this .......will definetly try making something like this. I also get a lot of my supplies from thrift stores... You are so fun to listen to and I love your work....thanks so much for sharing your skill !!!!!!!
Super pretty binder book!! Gina's art is extraordinary and inspires on many many levels...and so do you!! Can't wait to see the sequels to this lovely work in pretty progress!! xRenee
Love the colours and I've never thought about the number of decorations.. I just think that everything you create looks amazing and your insight about it makes a lot of sense. Thank you for all the tips shared in this video. I will be waiting to see the complete series! 💕💕
It turned out beautiful. The color of that notebook is one of my favorite colors and I love all the soft colors you used. Basically anything in the green to blue range. Those buttons you got in the tin are fabulous! Thanks so much for sharing with us Nazy.
"The Nazy Touch" made that ordinary binder sparkle! I'm looking forward to how it evolves in your next videos! Thank you for sharing this process with us! 😊
You're so cute! I love that you use odd numbers in your designs. I was a florist for 25 years and I was taught that you always use odd numbers in your flower designs so you definitely have a eye for design. How sweet. TFS, Luellen
This is such a great idea for those who want to create a journal without the more laborious parts of using an actual book 📚!! Love this. Thanks for sharing!
So beautiful! I was just going to throw out an old binder, but I think you've changed my mind! This vintage old lady is pretty sure that vintage paper clip is actually a vintage hair pin!
Hello sweetest Nazi, Thank you for sharing another super idea with your newest project, it is adorable I love watching you work your magic and how you make putting all the decorative elements together look so easy with all the fab finds from your thrift store. I too would love to know the name of the stamp set that you showcased along with where you bought it from please : ) . It is always such a treat to watch you crafting so will be looking forward to watching more as and when you have time to do so. Warmest best wishes, Susanne xxxxx
Thanks for the tip of using a small piece of paper to spread the glue, brushes are just too expensive to keep replacing and I am forever having to get up to wash my hands. Can't wait for the next video in this series.
Love the idea. I enjoy all types of journals, and also enjoy owning the work other artists have made. I really like all the texture on your cover. You're stretching your creativity. Many of us started out making mini albums, so it is familiar territory. But what makes it unique will be what is inside the journal. Thanks for your inspiration, especially with fabric.
this is fun - i love how happy you are when you are creating - i wish i new about that youtube had crafts etc my son told me about this - i sure have been missing out - i too have a love for fabric buttons and all that - you remind me of a much younger me - at that time there wasn't any internet but i'm glad i found you all now - looking forward to see how you finish the inside. jane
Love it! Just bought a couple of skirts at the thrift shop, I have been cutting them apart all morning. All I need to do now is a quick ironing and I have lots of lovely fabric strips and scraps. I have even saved the seams that I cut off, the make really nice rustic ribbons. Can't wait to try creating with them. Now going on the hunt for part 2.
I am on the hunt for a thrift store because of your video. I just love what you do with the stuff you find and I want to try it. Thanks for the inspiration.
That was fabulous watching your process there Nazy, this is looks so beautiful ... And you came across so very lovely finds in the thrift stores... Loving the colour combination you're working with, and can't wait to see the 2nd installment of the inside pages... Me I would glue it all down to cover, it's gorgeous... tfs xox hugs Fi
Hi Nazy. I love your genius. Makes me want to run to my local thrift store for a treasure hunt. Thanks for sharing yourself with us. Toni fromSoCal. Can't wait for your next 2
Its nice to hear what your thought process is. I would not have thought that pretty embroidered green swatch went with the blue spine, but the button choices make all the difference. As for the cover embellishments, I would probably do 1/2 glued and 1/2 pinned, glue the paper down maybe with a cute flower print on top, then sew the fabric together which can be clipped or pinned on and off.
lovely video and lovely work! re: your button box, the picture on the front depicts oast houses, you're right, it's a farm, but it's a farm that grows hops (for beer), and those funny shaped buildings with the white roofs are oast houses. I don't know if you have them in the US. They're often found in either Kent or Herefordshire, although other parts of England will have them too and they've been around for centuries. Again, I don't know whether you have this in the US, but i know in previous generations it was routine for women to keep button boxes, my mother still has one (a tupperware tub, actually, she has that many!), and I'm quite sure my grandmothers had them too. I'm pretty sure you'd love my mother's - it has many buttons still sewn to cardboard and paper, as they were bought, as that one you liked that you had a heart attack over...! Your specific box was most likely a biscuit tin. It would have been given as a gift, probably at Christmas, full of biscuits (not what you guys call biscuits, what we think of as biscuits is between what you call cookies and crackers, but they're sweet, often covered with chocolate or icing or other nice things.). As my grandmothers' generation have died off, because my family know i have an interest in sewing and crafting, I received any number of these biscuit tins filled with crafting items: embroidery skeins, cross-stitch fabric, lace, ribbons, fabric offcuts, all sorts of things, and they're fantastic, I used to love opening them and exploring the little treasures! I hope you get many years of joy from your button box. xxx
Your works amazing.I missed your old tn junk journal flip through part videos so much ,especially fairy and flower ones, please do again asap, you should try vintage mountain pictures or vintage story pages for your new tn junk journal cover ,be well x
I think a binder decorated is great too! It let's you change the contents whenever you like!! The fabric colors are so pretty especially the embroidered floral piece! Old vintage fabric colors are so hard to describe they are in a league all their own! What stamp set is that packaging card from? TFS!!
That's so pretty Nazy. You're so inspiring that it made me want to rush out to scour the local charity shops for goodies and get straight into making one, the problem is that I don't have your imagination so I have to take your ideas to adapt for myself. I can't wait for part two to see what happens next! Thank you 😊 Best wishes from Alys 💐
Cute 😍😍 ... I struggle with the binder style, but I love Gina's style.. I have picked up 2 vintage binders!!!! You did a beautiful job on the cover!!!!
Hi Nazy, That thing you are calling a vintage paper clip is actually a vintage Bobby pin for hair. I have been doing hair for over thirty years, but I have recently found you and many others here on TH-cam making journals one day when I was looking to get organized. Now I have my own art studio and I have been working on making journals and accessories. I love your ideas and color palette choices, which also remind me of Rachel Ashwell who may have coined the shabby chic term. You are a blessing. I have found some binder books that I will eventually be working on as well. Thank you for the inspiration and evolving in art world.
Hi Nazy just came across your beautiful creation videos! New sub! Is there a Part 2 or 3...Also please let us know where to get these clear stamps! Beautiful!
Can't wait for the next vidio ,I am glad you are doing one with rings, just wondering if in the future if you could do a small madori style notebook I could carry in my purse, I like your ideas with pocket in it to save receipts, thank you for all your ideas they are so inspiring
I love this. Do have a video showing how you made everything for the inside of it? I would love to see how you made it/set it up, as I've never made one before.
Hi Nazy. Princeton makes Catalyst silicone brushes which are flexible and great for spreading glue, gel medium etc.. The glue just peels off when dry or can easily be washed. As always, I enjoyed your video.
I think it looks awesome! All your journals are soooo pretty. You do such great work. I'm very excited to see the coming videos in this series! I've been thinking about creating a junk journal out of a binder because I'm worried my handmade tn junk journals will not last with the string bindings and I'd be sad cuz all the work I've put into them if they fell apart. You've inspired me to visit our local salvation army to see if I can find some awesome goodies to make my binder junk journal. :)

I have been addicted to watching these journal videos for the past week.
It’s amazing how simple thrift store finds can be put together to make a remarkably decorated piece. I love it!
I would defiantly let that beautiful antique lace show as much as you can! Looks gorgeous how you had it laid out!!
I'm so glad I found you! I have been wanting to try to make a journal. You've inspired me with your love of buttons and lace! I'm excited for you on finding the tin with buttons in it!!!!! I think I'll go thrifting tomorrow! Thanks for inspiring me !

The tin is of a hop farm, probably in Kent. Hops make beer, and the tall buildings processed and dried the hops.
Nice trivia.
I think glue down the bottom layers and bully clip the top cluster if you wanted to use for something? Very cute Nazy!!
I love this. Do have a video showing how you made everything for the inside of it? I would love to see how you made it/set it up, as I've never made one before.
It turned out awesome great job.tyfs
As always-super cute
Love how you put this cover together, the colours and textures are so pretty, I've subscribed so I don't miss the follow ups 👍😃
