    Any upright player who even uses a metronome has my full approval, never mind at 350 bpm. Respect!

    I can't play 350 bpm .... I can't play 175 bpm .... I'd be good playing 80 bpm for an hour ! I'm just experiencing with thumb position barely

    • @coledavismusic
      @coledavismusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no shame in that whatsoever. hmu if you ever want a lesson, I’m decent enough in thumb position 🙃

    Thank you relentlessly for this! I take it there's no PDF LOL. Which means if there are 7000 notes, that would be c. 1750 measures; transcribing/learning 8 mm a day would take me only 7 months! At least the lines are clear and the fingerings plain to see - no noisy distractions, i.e. drummers. I could then sell it to Berklee - it'd become their final exam!
    Seriously, it'd be great if you did a lesson(s) on how exactly one progresses from, say, walking a slow blues - typically the last thing in an elementary-level jazz-bass book - to improvising at 100 mph. It's never discussed in any jazz texts I've encountered, though there are some teaser lessons on TH-cam that serve as trailers for paid courses.

    This is supposed to the bass players nightmare, as the jam session horn players line up while chatting and sipping their drinks and you have keep going.

      The bass is fully carved, yes. It is a German bass from around 1900. I play Velvet Garbo strings on the D and G, and Spirocores (light tension) on the A and E. Thanks for watching 🤗
