Something about Turkic literature. You can name it as mourning if you wish to. But It's actually not. Because it could be lyric, a warsong like (for example this song) or it may be very sad. But never told to cry, but to remember them who died in war or died as a result of very bad events with honour to their names. This song, which you listened includes Mustafa, he is the eldest son of Suleiman The Magnificient. Some told he betrayed his father, some told he executed because of Hurrem Sultan's Byzantium like mind games. (Because Mustafa wasn't Hurrem's son, he was from another mother) You can learn a version about these events in series called Muhteşem Yüzyıl. It was very beautifully structured but more Harem based series which tells stories from Suleiman's time. It's not always correct. But it's fun anyways. Tashra means a field, a region which could includes villages, cities etc. It means like, provincial... Country... (This used because Janissaries are recruited from all over the Ottoman's lands) Eyvallah actually means like, "Thank god" but it's used as, "Thank you" like, thanking you by the name of this God. Hak is one of the 99 names of God in Islam. It means, claim, justice, right thing. Zahid means a human who only thinks about afterlife and forgets all about this worlds and lives things for it, btw. And finally, I forgot it, Hazret means a holy person. It's like equal to "saints" but it don't has to have to choose that way. For example, Hazret-î İsa, which is Jesus Christ is also a Hazret for Muslims ^^

Oh you reacted to this...Mustafa is my favorite character of Muhteşem Yüzyıl(I searched about Ottoman Empire, too). Here in Argentina it's about to finish after more than a year of episodes per day. It's SO LONG, but interesting and beautiful story, sadness, death of many characters(even protagonists), romance and battle, too great. Also, it has too many great soundtracks, like this and "Aşk-ı Derûn". I suscribe!

The song is not about Mustafa. It is a religious song of Bektaşi/Alevis. Song tells the beliefs of them. Also nonviolence resistance of them. Ottoman Sultan Yavuz killed many of them when he was fighting Şah İsmail. I think this poem written after that events. "Kırmak ile bitmeyiz", this sentence maybe about that events. Although rhytms of this song may imply war scene for a listener who is not familiar with sufi culture, it is not about war. The song's being used in a tv show about fights for the crown in the Ottoman Palace also may contribute to this image. Actually it is a chant sung by "heretic" orders' brethren such as Bektashi, Halwati, Mawlawi etc... Rhytm in the song is derived from the dhikr / zikr / zikir which is performed in various ways in sufi Islam. Dhikr or zikr means reciting any of the God's names or praising him repetitiously, mostly in rhytmic impulses. Lyrics of the chant talk about objections of a "heretic brother" against "orthodox sunni" clergy. Translations of its lyrics are well-meant, but inadequate efforts. This song is written for this prince. He was murdered by his father and this song was made back then (1553) it means we walk on the righteous way etc and are honest (he died as a martyr)

The song is not about Mustafa. It is a religious song of Bektaşi/Alevis. Song tells the beliefs of them. Also nonviolence resistance of them. Ottoman Sultan Yavuz killed many of them when he was fighting Şah İsmail. I think this poem written after that events. "Kırmak ile bitmeyiz", this sentence maybe about that events. Although rhytms of this song may imply war scene for a listener who is not familiar with sufi culture, it is not about war. The song's being used in a tv show about fights for the crown in the Ottoman Palace also may contribute to this image.
Actually it is a chant sung by "heretic" orders' brethren such as Bektashi, Halwati, Mawlawi etc... Rhytm in the song is derived from the dhikr / zikr / zikir which is performed in various ways in sufi Islam. Dhikr or zikr means reciting any of the God's names or praising him repetitiously, mostly in rhytmic impulses. Lyrics of the chant talk about objections of a "heretic brother" against "orthodox sunni" clergy. Translations of its lyrics are well-meant, but inadequate efforts.

This song is written for this prince. He was murdered by his father and this song was made back then (1553) it means we walk on the righteous way etc and are honest (he died as a martyr)
