He sounded like he was choking on a distorter during the transformation part, and he felt like he was cramming as many syllables into each beat as he could.
Usually when someone removes the BF vocals, it's so that they have more room to work with the vocals and lyrical timing, like in the part where Yourself mimicks BF (about 2:16). It would be harder to write meaningful lyrics with half of them being beeps. It may not be necessary, but, in my opinion, when it's done right, it helps remove excess noise so you can hear the vocalist better.

I hate unnecessarily getting rid of BF's vocals in lyrical covers of songs, especially when BF doesn't have a VA. It's just pointless
Usually when someone removes the BF vocals, it's so that they have more room to work with the vocals and lyrical timing, like in the part where Yourself mimicks BF (about 2:16). It would be harder to write meaningful lyrics with half of them being beeps. It may not be necessary, but, in my opinion, when it's done right, it helps remove excess noise so you can hear the vocalist better.
