I love your style of reviewing. Everything you need and nothing you don’t. I appreciate it. Curious about this back with some packing cubes. Thanks for posting this.
Aubrie, thanks so much, I really Appreciate it! Yep, I try to make reviews quick to the point and cover things not found on a website. Yea, this bag would be great with packing cubes. I personally don’t use them so I can’t recommend specific packing cubes. But the large singular storage area is perfect for packing cubes. Thanks! I posted a few other Osprey and bag videos if you’re interested.
Really liked seeing this review. I liked the idea of the top pocket for a water bottle! Did not think of that! Don't actually have the bag yet, but it is arriving tomorrow. Can't wait... last trip used top loading bags and it was a nightmare trying to unpack and find things... all the cubes had to come out etc... so this will be a dream to use, I hope. Thx for the video!
Thanks Lynne, glad I could help. Let me know how you like it! I'm with you on top loaders...they're tough to use. I even prefer normal backpacks over top loaders. Yea, the top water bottle pocket is great.
Can't argue with you there. I had the MLC for a long time and loved it, but actually sold it a little while ago because people were paying almost $300 for it since it was out of stock...so had to do it! My biggest knock on the MLC was no water bottle holders, but otherwise a fantastic bag. And actually, I think Osprey does have backpack straps on its latest 36L transporter bag.
@@EDG 😮 You're right about the new OSPREY update! Looks like I'll have to upgrade soon. I'm inclined to agree with you about the water bottle pocket, but I never bring my flask on the plane opting for a Vapur bottle, so any flat quick grab pocket with decent volume works for me.
@@Mattzerfyer Always fun to buy more bags. Yea I get that, most people carry smaller bottles or don't mind putting it in the main compartment. ..I just have a little PTSD with a bottle leak laptop fiasco I had. Now I jsut try to look for a separate pocket. Thanks for the comment!
Did you consider the Pakt Anywhere 25L duffel? Really nice looking bag with a lot of features, but pricey at $210. Waiting for my Arcane to arrive for a quick trip in two weeks.
Hi Tim, yes absolutely. The Pakt bag, GoRuck , and Aer are all on my list haha, but they’re so pricey. Hopefully I can get my hands on it soon. Do you have any of those?
@@EDG I ordered the Arcane yesterday after some research, but thinking that I am going to pull the trigger on the Pakt tomorrow so that I can compare the two. Really hard to tell what 25L or 30L is. However, I know that the Pakt One at 35L is too much. Feeling a bit like Goldilocks 🙂 My primary bag is an Osprey Meridian with a 60L main bag and a 16L day pack. I hoped that the day pack would be enough for overnight trips, but it is tight. We do a lot of short 36-48 hour trips
@@tkozikow Oh nice, you'l have to let me know what you think if you ge the Pakt. Yea same, 36-48 hours trips are super common, and you'll need something over 20L unless you're packing reaaaaalllly light.
@@EDG The Arcane was way smaller than I expected so that was out. I also thought that the Pakt Anywhere 25L was too small for anything more than a quick overnight trip and I was really not a fan of the design. Thinking that I needed to go a bit larger I bought the Peak Design Travel Duffel and Aer Travel Weekender, both 35L. The PD is a really good-looking duffel, especially in the sage green color, with a lot of space. I could easily see using this for a longer trip. However, at the end of the day, it is still a duffel. Nothing wrong with that, but I could just as easily spend less on something similar from North Face. However, the Aer really blew me away. I bought the 700D gray version instead of the 1680D black model which looked a bit too much like something a SWAT team would carry. The gray is subtle and has a really rich look and feel. The large exterior organizer pockets, including space for a 16" laptop, would allow me to use this for an overnight work trip. In addition, lots of small pockets inside and out offer a lot of utility. There are also two water bottle pockets and a luggage handle passthrough which I really appreciate since I could see this being my 'personal' item on trips with my rolling bag. At $189 this is not an inexpensive bag, but one that I expect to be using for a long time. What really surprised me was the variety of bags in this size and the different ways manufacturers interpret what a duffel is. The entire Aer line is impressive and I also purchased the Day Sling 3 and Travel Kit 2 and look forward to taking all of them on an upcoming trip.
@@tkozikow Love it! I've found the same thing as you. I had a PD duffel back in the day and stopped using it as much for the same reason. Pakt is good in theory but yea, too much organization for me. I've been on Aer kick too! I actually just reviewed the Aer City Pack 14L haha. It's great, I really like their design and you can feel the quality in hand. it's hard to describe. Glad you like it, I may have to get the Weekender as well.

@@EDG Got it! And tried it with my packing cubes and so far... I really think this is going to be my go-to carry-on bag. 👍🏻🎊
@@lynneeie5226 awesome! Glad it worked out.
This looks like a great bag, but I prefer the Patagonia Mini MLC. I wish Osprey would add backpack straps to their 36L Transporter carry-on bag.
