    That was fun…weirdly interesting and possibly funny 🤦‍♀️ I don’t do or view tic tock videos so it was an experience for me. I’m not sure I knew what to expect but I think I understand now. It’s quick short witty sarcasm on video? Did I get that right? I could learn to like 🤦‍♀️🤣🤣🤣

    That part where they slide the lever up at the bottom of the door -That is a lock at the bottom of the door. That is found all over the world. Should have been quite evident to anyone.

    It's the original door entry system, in Tenements there was brass bell pulls at the bottom of the stairs, and a door release brass slide door opener outside the door of each flat.(you see who it is by looking out the bay window)

    I know how you feel about the ‘real’ Edinburgh, the raw & unpoetic one. I’d like to point I am Scottish and I do love Edinburgh, I chose to go to Uni there. But I remember the romance of the city wore off fast. I once wrote an email to the council entitled the road to Leith is paved with vomit, dug shite and disappointment. Probably unsurprisingly I never received a reply 😂

    Yes we have beautiful pure drinking water then we make it better and we get whisky. The southerners take water that's already been drunk by three people ferment with it distill it call it gin and it still tastes like piss.

    There's an area in Stirling called "Kildean", so I would jokingly say things like "oh no, poor Dean!" although I knew it didn't literally refer to killing someone called Dean. But then when I was on a bus from Edinburgh to Newtongrange, I looked out the window and saw a street named "Murderdean Road"...

    Best place to see basalt columns like the Giant's Causeway in Scotland is Staffa where you'll find Fingal's Cave. In fact Fingal's cave is named after Finn McCool! It's well worth a visit, especially in summer because there's a Puffin colony! I'm not a fan of Aberdeen either. I have a German friend who came to Scotland on holiday so many times and jumped at the chance to move to Scotland to work. She ended up in Aberdeen, hated it and left! I do a like a book shop in Aberdeen, and the beach but I can leave the rest!

    • @naomifranklin4330
      @naomifranklin4330 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Kakibot I would say it is the level of how much the council care. They are building new buildings that are not needed, then saying they don't know what to about the lack of housing.
      An other huge problem facing aberdeen is lack of jobs. Union street is pretty much a ghost town nowadays, it's pretty almost empty shop lots. The ones that left are barely getting by.

    • @grahamlive
      @grahamlive 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@naomifranklin4330 To be fair empty shops are a problem in most parts of Scotland. Maybe Edinburgh and Glasgow being the exceptions. Other towns and cities are dying across Scotland.

    And what's also cool about the Appalachian thing is that that is exactly where so many "cleared" highlanders, and Irish evicted, congregated once they got here. We have them to thank for Bluegrass.
