A really very good job, in the end this crawler is nice with a little upgrade, and moreover, it is not expensive. It would be cool for me 😉 Super video 👍
I think I will not recommend it to you, because I was able to upgrade it with what I have spare parts in my stock, if you have to buy this crawler and in addition buy all the parts in addition, the battery, shock absorbers and finding the spring that I put in this false servo, it is not profitable for you. If you want to buy a crawler it is better that you buy a complete and good one. There are really cheap 1/18 or 1/10 crawlers. So if you want to buy one, don't hesitate to ask me first 😊👍
2nd.... As if that matters one iota!! 😜😖 WOW Pascal, were those Tamiya Springs on it at first? They were HARD to the point of being horrible. No Crawler should ever have Springs that stiff! It prevents even the most basic Crawling. The 1/18 Dampers was such a good fix. Great thinking my Friend!! 👍👍 The spacers was clever as well. It's fun watching you create! 😊💯👍👍 Carmine ✈🚂🚙
I do not understand why we put shock absorbers finally springs so hard, it is incomprehensible, even a child would have been disappointed. The HSP shocks that I put are not expensive, maybe just 10/12 dollars and still I think less. And already it is much better, and for the direction, a simple more flexible spring was enough, by doing this they could sell this rc 15 dollars more and that would have been very good. With the new battery in 2s it's great, but you will see it in my next video, it has nothing to do with the first test I did 😊👍
You are so right.... Even a child would notice that it didn't behave at all like a real vehicle. The fix was easy and inexpensive. I cannot see why they couldn't do that in the first place. 😲
@@CarminesRCTipsandTricks Selling quickly and cheaply is their motto, but I think for fifteen or twenty dollars more with at least one servo and decent shocks they would have surely sold as much, but that's only my opinion. Passe une bonne journée Carmine 😊👍

I think you can put a more efficient radio control but you will also have to change the electronics, you can put the WPL receiver it should be good for this rc.
Yeah because I really don't like the controller , it's too basic, although you can tell it is a kids RC car , I feel like it has potential to be a good car , so Im looking to upgrade it

Very nice. I know why you want to make this work a little better and I think you have done that. First of all the shock change looks like it will make a Huge difference by the look of it and it certainly has more flex. The steering might be a little better but all in all I think the rig your Dad gave you will be much better on the next run. Well done Pascal
Just a few improvements and this crawler got really cool. I did a second test run with it and frankly it's good, maybe in the end I should adapt a real servo on this rc and find more flexible tires 😊👍

those shocks did they come off a 1/18 ecx temper or the 1/16 redcat? I have many dozens of those shocks work well.. Some softer springs from new bright res can be installed on them.. Looks to be a good fix for this experiment 8-)..
These are the shocks of a 1/18 HSP Kulak. I really find them really good, I've been them for years and they never broke, this HSP brand is very solid. On some I had scx1O springs and it turned out to be excellent. Thanks for your good comment my friend 😊👍
the toy is on its way! the pair of 280 motors in the axles should be plenty of power for how light these type chassis are. not much different than the Redcat/Danchee "Trail Hunter" for suspension, after getting the lighter shocks on it.
These are type motors : XLH-5027 in 260 it seems to me. I used a 7.4v lipo 2s with this rc. The electronics held up but I don't think you could use a more powerful lipo because the gears are not suitable, this rc is considered a toy. In addition I'm not sure that even with a 2s lipo the electronics will last long.
@@satorrotas thanks for the reply. The toy grade 1:8 RC crawler uses a plastic centrifugal clutch type servo having 2 wires. The problem is that clutch system is not very efficient and the servo loses traction when the vehicle is stationary due to heavy weight of the vehicle and big tyres and powerful retention spring. Is it a good idea to glue the clutch so it no longer is a clutch? But this way I guess the motor will have a tendency to burn. Is there any other method to increase the traction of the clutch or if I use a 3 wire servo and convert it in a 2 wire servo by directly joining the power to the servo motor, this way will it help somehow as I don't want to replace pcb board or other electronics. I know converting the servo will make it spin continuously in both directions but is there a clutch method in such replacement servos which prevent them from burning when the steering limit arises?
I think that if we don't change the electronic card the modification to the servo will burn. The only thing that would seem good to me is to use the mini escs that we use to upgrade the WPL. This will allow you to install three-wire servos. Of course this requires changing a lot of things and the conversion will not be easy to do.
I´ve been looking forward to seeing what you would do to improve this crawler. I love seeing toy-grade RC cars being upgraded - it´s more challenging and interesting, I think, than just buying an SCX or a TRX to start with something poorly designed and improve it : )
Yes it's true that it's complicated to improve these toys, but as you said, it's very interesting, and it makes our servo work to find solutions 😁 I did a new test, I'm going to put the video on Thursday, I can say that it's really better than the first test, I even think I had a blast with 😄 But If I manage to find more flexible tires I could ultimately adapt a real servo. Thank you for your excellent comment, have a good day Del 😊👍

The shock absorbers I had them from another rc, but you can buy them on Aliexpress and it does not cost much. For the spring I use this comes from a Wpl C24 or C14 servo, but I don't know if it can be bought. You can put any spring but it must be smaller than the one there is in this rc 😊👍
