Ubuntu 24.04 does not install on 2gb of ram. You need 4gb at a minimum. This is due to the new installer. Lubuntu 24.04 is the only variant that installs on 2gb of ram because it is not using subiquity. I have tested this in 5 different machines. Also, make sure to not use 3d acceleration as there is a current bug that causes screen flickering
