Her battle is more a matter of chance than skill, it took me like 30 or so tries to beat her normally because of me not having a high critical chance normally, you pretty much need a setup for her specifically to beat her

It's because in each phase, you're given specific tasks like technical every turn or critical every turn. If you fail, Lavenza downs and All Out Attack you. It doesn't count if you're downed by weaknesses or critical.

I think I got confused because while doing the twins solo every time they got a critical and downed me they would all out attack, just like you would in a normal encounter against shadows.

I've managed to finally rank up my technical hits and fuse Personas with all the skills I want, so now it's just a matter of grinding those fusion alarms for stats before throwing myself at the wall.

I never understood Lavenza's persona choice for phase 4. Like, Thor for Ice?? What? Other than that, congrats on achieving this feat thought to be impossible. You've just completed the hardest challenge of any persona game imo. Amazing!

Answering your question: In P3P maniac mode you'll have to rely on high counter rng to get her hp below 9999 before she uses diarahan after which you use fusion spell to finish her. If you miscalculate & use armageddon sooner then you will taste her favourite megidolaon spam until you die. Also there is turn limit (it is lower in maniac mode I don't exactly remember 40 I guess + you need to waste a bunch of turns casting infinity spell). Usually in normal mode after getting her to below 9999 2nd time (25 to 28 turns) she won't heal but in maniac mode she uses diarahan no matter how many times - meaning you need to rely on high counter rng to use armageddon on correct turn.
Major kudos for only using Yoshitsune once instead of the usual Hassou Tobi spam you'd expect from solo challenges, AND for blurring the target's name at the end
So technically the wildcards are the strongest things in the persona universe along with ryuji because he somehow lived through his momentos body getting destroyed and came back like it was normal.
You could have used endure or enduring soul to survive lavenzas one shot if you had it on any persona. And she doesnt resist wind in either stance in phase 4 so you could have had a repel all and spammed wind to pump out damage
Doing this solo, DLC or not is already a monumental task, so kudos on both counts. However, the shocking difference in the difficulty of the fight with DLC vs not does show that the DLC can make you giga broken with some investment
ok so because I'm a masochist I decided to do this challenge so I might as well tell you how it went. First, it took me a total of 36 tries to beat Lavenza without DLC. I only got to the third phase 3 times out of the 36 tries and I only got to the fourth phase only twice. Here are the stats for how many times each Crit or tech attack hit: Phase 1 one-shot kill -> 21/34 = 0.5833 or 58.3% Since there is a cap of 60% for Crit in P5R this makes sense. Phase 2 Ice gun technical -> 12/21 = 0.5714 or 57.1% this percentage can probably increase if you have freeze boost on your "dream needle" persona, I only had ailment boost on mine. Phase 2 Dream Needle -> 3/12 = 0.25 or 25% This is by far the biggest wall in this fight. Phase 3 Sword Dance -> 5/5 = 1 or 100% (I made it to this point only 3 times: run 13th, 23rd, and 36th) run 23rd: I got pretty lucky with Crits in Phase 3, the only reason why I didn't make it to Phase 4 on run 23rd was because I got very unlucky with dodging Psy attacks so by the time I made it to Phase 4 I already had burned through Futaba and enduring soul. I didn't use Endure btw. run 13th: this fight was very weird, I got hit with a Crit at the beginning of Phase 2 from a one-shot kill so I was left with 300-ish Hp so after I hit the tech with the Ice gun Lavenza changed to Anubis as usual but she used a megidolaon instead of using an instant kill attack and left me with 50 Hp. The Crit from dream needle landed, used megidolaon on her, dodged the Nuke attack but since Futaba didn't heal before I had to use Sword Dance I was unable to continue. run 36th: I landed 3 Crits in a row, thanked the RNG Gods for this miracle, and continued to victory. Over all success rate -> 1/36 = 0.0278 or 2.7% yep this fight is difficult and if it wasn't for the fact that I got blessed with sword dance it probably would've taken me another 20 to 30 tries. Honestly i gave up on lavenza because i dont like min maxing(build up to boss just to one shot is kinda boring) but no matter how many times i run her my mates refuse to dodge even with evade, they always get ailments even with haru on the team, joker doesnt detox the one time its fatal if he keeps the ailment, i dont crit when i need to, basically anything that can go wrong does
Honestly this is probably how it canonically goes, Joker using the full power of his WC abilities to beat her, Lavenza always speaks as if she's talking to just Joker after all, she never hints towards your party actually participating in the fight.
So hard. I did the max satanael, fafnir, abbadon for heat riser and debilitate, yoshitsune "brave blade apt pupil". Merciless impossible took me a week to formulate the patterns fucking hell.
This fight literally made me edge an aneurism I tried solo hard because pride reasons I threw my remote and looked up stuff on youtube, guess I just wasnt doing it right

Honestly i gave up on lavenza because i dont like min maxing(build up to boss just to one shot is kinda boring) but no matter how many times i run her my mates refuse to dodge even with evade, they always get ailments even with haru on the team, joker doesnt detox the one time its fatal if he keeps the ailment, i dont crit when i need to, basically anything that can go wrong does
Honestly this is probably how it canonically goes, Joker using the full power of his WC abilities to beat her, Lavenza always speaks as if she's talking to just Joker after all, she never hints towards your party actually participating in the fight.
