Fun Competitive pokemon fact! There was actually a time where Bidoof became a top threat.
In gen 5 competitive, both Bidoof and it's evolution Bibarel got the ability Moody through the Dreamworld (Moody basically increases a random stat by 2 stages every turn, and decreases another by 1. This includes evasion, which is why the ability was so broken when paired with substitute.)
This ability made them so broken, that it made not only Bibarel, but BIDOOF terrorize even Ubers (the same tier with strong pokemon like Groudon, Mewtwo and Arceus.) Until the ability was eventually banned. Thanks to them and their fellow moody ability abuser, Glalie, Smeargle and Octillery.
So yes, God Bidoof was real
And we unleashed it's wrath

Bidoof and bibarel are honestly being slept on.
Moody and simple are both really good abilities and if you manage to set up they can sweep the shit out of almost anything.
my original Pearl team had a Bibarel, came in clutch a few battles back then haha

This challenge actually might have been easier if there were abilities or the normal stat buff mechanics in this game. Simple or Moody are actually quite broken on Bidoof or Bibarel.
I swept through a rom hack once with a Moody Bibarel. Not sure about Bidoof though.

I’ve got it! I think Adaman and Irida are ancestors of Penny since they both use Eevee and have very distinctive links to the colours red and blue, just like Penny’s hair.
Bidoof was actually my first shiny in PLA. I met him at the first hour of playing, the few steps out of the obsidian fieldland's camp. His name is Butter and now he is a level 100 Bibarel.

The bidoof packs the alpha symbol when used in combat
Alpha Pokémon aren't stronger, they have better than average Effort Levels (Grit Items fix that) and come with a built in tutor move (can be Move Tutored). When you fight **against** an Alpha, they have stat buffs, but they don't apply once caught

Pretty much! The AI is REALLY inconsistent in PLA and sometimes the smallest changes would lead to wildly different AI responses
I mean Keegan literally had God, aka the almighty Bidoof on his side. So luck is always guaranteed.

He might have used PkHex to increase the size progressively because if it was a shiny alpha then we would've seen the alpha symbol beside the name...
Maybe leveling increases the size but we don't notice because we evolve the pokemon
