It's situated on the Neckar River (a major Rhine tributary) in the state of Baden-Württemberg. It is a university town, known as the home of Heidelberg University - the oldest in Germany and one of the oldest in the world. It's also home to the ruins of Heidelberg Castle, considered one of the great Renaissance structures, which is prominently featured in the video.
