    15:15 In America we do use the stop signs a lot. Though what is making the city here begin having problems is that new area not having a good number of connections to the main artery for people to leave or enter. As of this moment he has five with three of them going to an artery road rather far away from where much of the traffic would go, that being the right side artery leading to the highway, industry, and commercial areas. For the road along side the track, I would add two more roads to the artery, and then on the right side artery at least five connections. Making so few connections with a stop sign is asking for backup to occur.

    Here is some thoughts on stop signs versus yield signs.
    When you have a grid like that, almost every intersection needs to have stop signs, not just on the major road. There is a couple of ways of doing it to really control your traffic.
    For example, you could make every intersection a 4-way stop, so everyone has to stop, this will help the traffic. Or you could put stop signs on all the roads going east and west, and none on the north and south. The traffic then will want to go north and south to miss all the stop signs. And, where all the small roads meet up with the big main roads, (the two roads going through the middle of the grid that are main roads, and the 4 main roads on the outside of the grid) and put stop signs on all four sides, or a traffic ligt.

  • @Mobythemini
    @Mobythemini 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Don't worry too much about using Yields. We do have them here in the US, they're just very targeted. That intersection you placed it on since there isn't much traffic, it is one normally would have a stop sign but probably could get argued into a Yield. But here no one would ever do that lol

  • @CoreyKearney
    @CoreyKearney 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The in game reason for stop signs is they increase the path length as well. So if you have a neighborhood cims are short cutting through, filling it with stop signs like north american residential areas discourages cuts, Kinda works the same IRL.

    16:50 - Biffa, Timed Traffic Lights
    - Set Min Time : 1 (do not adjust this)
    - Set Max Time : 10
    - Set Flow Type : No one is driving (flow=0) (do not adjust this)
    - Set Flow Sensitivity : Medium
    Why you ask?
    This setup allows traffic to flow through a green light until there is no more traffic flowing through or your Max Time has been reached, then the light switch to next state. You can adjust the Max Time to how long you want a green light, higher for busy intersections, lower for less traffic, adjust sensitivity if you have multiple intersections on one timed light setup.
    ** This works a treat and prevent massive line ups at traffic lights.

    The whole of the USA is divided by counties and some city law enforcement. Hence, police, etc. are limited to their districts. Then you have state police that can work within the entire state. Finally, you have the FBI, DHS, Customs, US Marshals, etc. which can work within any US territory as Federal Police.

  • @AbsalomIndustries
    @AbsalomIndustries 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    With C:S not having accidents, there isn't much reason to use stop signs over yield. Stop signs in America work well for low traffic and preventing accidents in blind intersections but there's virtually zero reason to use them if you can never have an accident. The US would use yield signs a lot more if accidents weren't a thing. Keep in mind US roads tend to be a lot wider so speeds can tend to be higher making yield signs IRL more risky, but that risk doesn't exist in the game.

  • @MEGAME985
    @MEGAME985 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Yeah we have stop signs in America. But we treat them as yields!

  • @Dani-it5sy
    @Dani-it5sy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Americans don't understand the use of the STOP sign. It should only be used at crossings where the view is so bad or obscured that it is (nearly) impossible to get a good overview of the situation without coming to a complete stop. I all other cases it is better to try and keep the car rolling if possible.
    I don't know how this turns out in this game but in real life this is how the shield should be used.
    In practice this means that you rarely see a STOP sign. Which results in people taking the sign serious and understand that this crossing is dangerous and needs extra focus.

In real life, where I am from, we have these little cars with speed cameras standing besides the road steeling money from people that are just a few miles above the speedlimit 😆 But I can imagine they use this sign for that purpose in the US. Every government has its own creative way to steel money from the poor while letting the rich kind of off the hook.

  • @lukasmax6984
    @lukasmax6984 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Since this is an American build, don't use traffic manager to set up priority signs. Instead, use the game's default stop signs. This will add decorative visual stop signs on the street that are built in the game but don't appear when using traffic manager. The US uses 4-way stop signs in residential areas. Those are the worst so I think avoid them where possible. Instead use as many 2-way stop signs as you can. If any intersection starts backing up because of the stop signs, then just switch it over to the default traffic light. Don't bother wasting time on setting up the timed traffic light unless the default traffic light is having problems. To improve the default traffic light, upgrade the intersection roads to have dedicated turn lanes first. This way you will have a realistic all American city without cheating by using yield signs.

    Hi biffa i had an idea for the congestion at the school. You could have the side road come off the main road two way, one lane. And add a bypass for the left turn. Looks like you would have to replan the walking path under the bypass though. With designated turning lanes it would help alot. Most of the traffic comming out of the community is turning left. Only problem is that it will create alot of nodes. So would it fit?

If somebody enters in the main road he will not use the right lane because just after there is a junction with dedicated turning lanes…so you have junks of main road where the right line is completely empty (an example is where the bus station is), and people entering the main road will use left lane that is already congested by the oncoming traffic…if this makes sense 😉

    Biffa have you tried this new mod that was released called Transfer Manager CE v1.2?
    Also would be a good thing to have some American buses and trams maybe.

    Hey Biffa, anyway one of these days you can do a video on all the mods you use to this day? I think you did something like this years ago. Only asking because CS seriously needs to just come out with CS2 since the mods out their some work and some dont and far too many out there now. Any who keep doing what your doing always love the videos. Good day.

    For the name I think they’re both great but Teattle would fit better with the style/climate of the map as it’s far more similar to Seattle region compared with Mississippi

    • @robierap

      I agree! Teattle gets a vote for me. Mississippi lacks rugged landscape or mountains like the Seattle region. It’s mainly flat with marshes and low elevations.

    Hey Biffa, there are settings inside of tmpe to turn off automatically putting in traffic lights and also automatically using designated turning lanes. Saves you going around manually and inevitably missing one or two

    • @Incogneto1981

      @@mjm3091 He literally plays this a ton and still makes obvious mistakes in most videos that he then calls out and corrects later. We're all human and make mistakes. Just because he's made tutorials on a particular mod doesn't mean he is an expert with it or even knows about/utilizes all the settings. OP made a good suggestion even if you don't think it is worthwhile.

    To be fair, most Americans treat stop signs like yield signs anyway, so it is fairly accurate.
