    I use Dzues fasteners myself, quick release,solid holding,and I make use of them for quick release fenders also...my bug is race capable and I have fenders for that purpose while my stock fenders are for non contact driving...

      Going to do it to my 68 also. Good stuff. I refuse to jack the car up 5 feet in the air anymore just to pull the engine in & out.

    I too used pop rivets, but only to fit it, I than drilled holes bigger and installed rivnuts . Any size or head type you prefer
