I auditioned for Juilliard with this🙏🏼 Did not get in, they were accepting 3 chairs I was 4th. I loved the entire experience and this will always be one of my favorite pieces and memories ❤️🙏🏼
I sincerely thank you for this! Picked my clarinet up after 32 years and your play along videos and that you provide the music is just wonderful. Well done!
Some timing issues and late entrance due to breathing and interpretation. But I think it's also because the piano accompaniment might be a "track" and not a clarinetist working with a live pianist. IF it is a live pianist MORE practice as working as a team is needed. This video is still pretty decent for clarinetist using a Bb clarinet instead of an "A clarinet" and learning this piece for the first time. But for the clarinetist - try re-recording this with either a "live pianist" or a pianist that is listening to your and FOLLOWING you - not you chasing the pianist. Otherwise recommend listening to Sabine Meyer or Martin Frost. : D

Anything and Everything oh my god, you do not have to be an expert on this piece to be able to tell that the player has late entrances and isn’t in-sync with the pianist at all times. Judging by this persons comment, I’m assuming they know a thing or two.

This recording is in itself a scandal. First, reducing to piano Mozart's subtle chamber orchestra with two flutes, two bassoons, two horns and strings written in a very delicate way is a big loss. Second, Mozart used the warm and shy clarinet in A (the work is in A major, with a Masonic secret meaning). Using the brillant and more common clarinet in B is a musical treason, which is all but forgiveable in Mozart's works in general, and in this one in particular.
Reducing the size of the group was necessary to make a simple, play along version of it. This is not meant to be a good version, it's meant to be a learning or play along video to learn it or to practice. And why does the key of the instrument matter? They give slightly different tonal qualities, but a good player can still produce the wonderful tone they want on a clarinet in b flat. Also it's a play along version, and b flat is much more common, so it gives everyone the option to play along rather than just the few people who have a clarinet in a. I dont see a problem with this. It's not meant to be the perfect version or one that you would perform for an audience, so theres nothing wrong with some major alterations
With that attitude no one should play it on A clarinet either. It's written for a bassett you twat. Not everyone has an orchestra at their disposal and piano reductions are common, with Mozart and any other orchestral concertos.
This is useful because lots of places give this music to people who play Bb clarinet for auditioning purposes. Transposing it completely removes the idiomatic nature of it on a Bb clarinet. You wouldn't do it on a Bb in a performance, but it's common practice for auditioning
@@janne7263 If you put your performance out on youtube, you better expect honest analysis. It's a dog eat dog world out there. I'm not gonna lie to someone. It's the incredibly competitive music industry. If you can't handle criticism, quit.
