    Bob , Thanks for the quick rundown on what to expect.
    @1:38 A2 button always triggering the Barcode Reader.
    The BIOS setup, => Main => Tablet Button Configuration => A2 Button, looks like the A2 button defaults to Barcode Reader Trigger, but has 3 other choices, Disabled, Application2 and Ctrl+Alt+Del. So expect the Barcode Reader to be triggered even if the BIOS setup is one of the other 3 choices?

    My issue is black screen. When i turn on all "works", light are open, but the screen is black. I need to restart...

      When you restart does your screen start working correctly? If not have you tried connecting an external monitor to the unit to see if all else is working?

    I’m having an issue with the camera on the back. Some days it works, other days it doesn’t. When I go to the camera app, it keeps trying to switch to it but keeps saying that it’s unavailable. I went to the device manager and it says it’s working properly which is not true at all. Any suggestions?

    Those are pretty minor issues tbh. I was expecting something grandious. Looking at getting one for my travels as a homeless bum while still being able to work on my video games.

      It would work well for that! We would just suggest that you get a keyboard for it to make easier to input data. Thanks for watching!

      Thanks for the suggestion, I will absolutely make sure to pack a physical keyboard!

    I got an FZ-G1, only a couple of months old and it has died. It just went off half way through the day. (nothing, dead, not even a charging light). They say it is because it is always on charge while using it. About 8 hours a day. Mother board fried apparently?

    • @Bobjohnson
      @Bobjohnson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is more likely that your motherboard has been shorted by a power surge or something else. You cannot overcharge your battery- the battery will stop drawing electricity when it is full. Also, your battery is actually more likely to explode than to get so hot that it would effect your motherboard. Hope this helps a bit. If you do have further questions, feel free to reach out to us using our Tech Support Form here: www.bobjohnson.com/tech-support-form/

    • @Bobjohnson
      @Bobjohnson  ปีที่แล้ว

      Those parts can be difficult to install. You might have a ribbon cable that is not connected properly. You might also need to install the Panasonic drivers for that upgrade.

      Does the RJ45 show as a Serial Port? If so, maybe-- Enter BIOS setup => Advanced => Serial Port Settings. Maybe the Barcode Reader was overwritten by Ethernet Port and given the choice to Disable, Enable, or Auto?

    Howdy, My two toughpad fz-g1 have 8gig of RAM & Win7 Enterprise. I want reinstall their OS. Both have no Recovery Partition in BIOS. One had a dead SSD and got a new SSD. Do you sell their recovery image? if you dont sell their OS recovery image then what is your best suggestion besides contacting Panasonic? Thanks in advance.

    • @Bobjohnson
      @Bobjohnson  ปีที่แล้ว

      We are unable to sell a OS recovery image. Your best bet is to load a clean version of windows. Those tablets can be a bear to load. We use a desktop port replicator to get the job done.

    What if I want to change the user to my sons name but I can’t remember my password or the security questions? How do I reprogram it?

    • @runthenumbers9698
      @runthenumbers9698 ปีที่แล้ว

      CMOS reset. the bios data is preserved by something called the CMOS battery (which is a disk style battery). You take the battery out for a few minutes with no power source... tadah! Fresh Bios reset.

    Anyone got the issue of just not turning on? no response to the 'on' button. not on good battery nor on powercord. any help appriciated.

    • @Bobjohnson
      @Bobjohnson  ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you tested your power cord? Make sure it is actually sending power to the tablet. Otherwise there are more serious problems. If you would like us to take a look at it, here is our repair and service form: www.bobjohnson.com/repairs-service/

      I'm experiencing this issue too, we have 30+ of these where I work and at least 10 now fail to power on, battery is fully charged (confirmed in working device) docked or undocked makes no difference, the power button just does nothing.

    • @Bobjohnson
      @Bobjohnson  ปีที่แล้ว

      A just purchased used FZ-G1 had some issues with starting off, pushing the power button and then not being able to turn it off. Then later not being able to turn it on at all.
      The battery connection was vacuumed followed by warmed air from a hair dryer and the vacuumed some more. The FZ-G1 powered on but the power button function was still weird. Booted into BIOS for an hour which warmed the overall FZ-G1, warmed the battery connection still more with the hair dryer and then vacuumed it, and now all is good. Did some internals get some condensate on them? This FZ-G1 has just come from the Gulf Coast to near Chicago where the temps had been in the low teens, then brought inside.
      * Bob is spot on about the plastic cover over the USB / HDMI ports breaking off.

    • @Bobjohnson
