- Welcome to Imagine Your Odyssey. Come and visit with me the amazing camp ground in Blacksburg Virginia. The Campground is located approx 20 minutes from Virginia Tech ( aka VT). In this video, i will share with a walkthrough of the amazing and beautiful New River Junction campground. We stayed here for 6 nights while taking our oldest daughter to Virginia Tech orientation. Thanks for watching. I grew up in Virginia as well. We have been all around the blue ridge mountains but never here. We were taking my oldest to Virginia Tech for 1st year of college and have returned to this campground 2 times since the video posting.

The campground is a lot of fun. If you like fishing, tubing and/or playing in the water then it is a lot of fun. Near by is Virginia Tech and there is a lot of things to do and see there also

Thanks for posting~I will be in this area in October… it’s nice to see it before arriving. How bad is the train noise in this campground?? I will be staying for several days~does the train run around the clock?
Train does run around the clock. The first time we went there, it was loud to me. After staying a couple of days, I got used to it or just ignored it. The view of the river and mountains are so worth it though. If you get up as the sun is coming up, the valley view is beautiful with a cup of hot coffee.
