- The Washington Commanders might be in the mix for Myles Garrett, yet fans are hesitant on giving up "too much" for the generational superstar. We discuss why that is a very silly notion with callers on Tuesday's Hoffman Show!

If Garrett is a 10, then I would prefer to use all those picks and our cap space to get 7-8 level player in more spots. People lose all reason just because Garrett is so talented. If we can get two 7-8 level players in the draft and use our cap space wisely it will be a less risky, better long term play….have a little patience
Winning consistently in the future is going to require upgrades at virtually all position groups. Hard todo if we sell the farm to get Garrett.
The Rams did it, won a Super Bowl and were in the playoffs again
No one is worth whatever they ask for or whatever it takes to outbid others. Have you EVER been to an auction? The winners at auctions are nearly always losers.
Making statements like whatever it takes and then saying whatever it takes is worth it, it shows you don't know how to live within your means.
Four picks 1 1 3 3 is a ridiculous idea. Those picks represent four years each. Garrett is signed for TWO years, and at a HIGH price.
If you leverage to much money in one player you are less likely to get to a SB.
2 firsts 2 starters and lowering later round picks? Where do you fill all the other holes?this is a move that teams with a short super bowl window make. Not a team who's Super Bowl window is just starting to open
Facts he is a beast i hope adam makes it happend
In AP I trust! There’s not a player you can draft that is better than Myles Garrett. If AP and DQ decides in the near future to trade for Myles Garrett, I’m not going to complain about the price. Myles Garrett is a future gold jacket that makes the defense instantly better. If we gotta beat Rocky then we’re going to need a hungry version we saw of Clubber Lang in the beginning of the Rocky III.
All players including Garrett are one serious injury away from being done. To give up all of that for one player is putting all of our eggs in one basket…. Let’s fill the holes we have with strong talent without mortgaging our future on one guy. Didn’t RG3 teach us anything?
I really don't understand the medias obsession with Garret to Washington. He's a great player, but the price tag is just way too high when we have so many other holes to fill. We still need a new player at every skill position on top of upgrades across both the offensive and defensive line. Wait until next year for a splash signing when there's only a couple holes.
NO FIRST ROUND PICS!
Why are you yelling, spelling a basic English word wrong, and giving the dumbest possible take all at once?
I think Colemane is similar to Scherff, he’s destined to be a guard in the NFL. I’d give up Coleman and Payne and 2 first. I’d want Garret and a 2nd or a 3rd in return.
I love Garrett, but you also have to consider the longevity of a DE who is already 30 years old. Not many top rank pass rushers are any good past their early 30s. Also, the Browns lost WITH him. I would give up Payne and a first, and that is as far as I would go.
Bro he's got s good like 6 years left in him. Also the reason why the browns lost with him is because they didn't have a Qb. And also just one 1st round and Daron will definitely NOT be enough to get him.
That’s how sb teams are made, overpaying sometimes for that missing piece a la 49ers when they got Trent Williams and despite failing to win the sb, which is entirely Kyle shanahan’s fault ❤✌️
Here's something for you to think about. How many 1st down conversions did this defense allow on 3rd and long this past season? Wanna know why that kept happening? We didn't have a pass rusher.
Brother, he is not built like anyone else in the league physically. The dude is a fucking work horse who takes care of his body better than literally anyone in the league.
He’s also only 29, and he’s such an athletic freak and elite player that he would still be the best player in our defense even 5 years from now most likely
That would be the the type of idiotic decision made during the Snyder years.
No it wouldn't. We would've traded that for a guy like Johnathon allen lol
Lazy take
Adam Peter's needs to be thinking and moving like Howie Roseman with these trades and signing.
I think I could do 2 1sts. I maybe could 2 with 2 1sts and a player. But 2 1sts and 2 valuable players? That's alot for a player that probably is about to get a big new contract AND is about to be on the wrong side of 30. At the end of the day, I think I would do it, but I'd negotiate like hell to try to turn one of those 1sts into a 2nd. Maybe it could be conditional on health/performance/team success? Like say, the 2026 1st is a 1st only if WAS end up with a bottom 8 pick (which would mean they at least got back to the divisional round again), but it's a 2nd if the pick is higher than that. I think that's fair especially since the negotiations will likely turn on assuming that WAS's 2026 pick will be a low one. This way if the team stumbles, there's at least some protection.
I don’t know about Coleman. But everything else sounds great
We need to win now and with Garrett and other moves we’ll be set to win in the next 2 yrs b4 Jayden’s bills come due so 2 1st rounders + Daron or Allen will do nicely knowing that our 1st rounder this yr is 29th and next year might be 32nd or 31st so let’s get it❤✌️
Myles Garrett for two first rounders? NOOOOO WAY. Dude is special 1 of 1 but time is money and spending this capital on a dude with time dwindling it hurts to throw that up on him. If he was 25 I’d throw the bank at him. This is a huge decision. Jayden does need help and defense should be the priority. I’m 50/50 thankfully I’m not the dude making the decisions bc if we do acquire him and things go south or he starts to suffer from injury (hopefully not) it goes from the biggest trade to the biggest mistake for this front office.
Draw the line at 1 first rounder 1 second rounder and one player. Dont get sucked in. This guy gets a hammy and we are screwed.
Parsons is most likely leaving Dallas next year, save your money for him. Save your draft picks.
I’d trade one of our overrated defensive tackles and our first round pick this year in a heartbeat for Myles Garrett
Cleveland can not take on Allen or Paynes contract.. goodness
Dont like the 2 round picks and solid player for Garrett because if something happens to Garrett you loose 2 much.
I know Miles is good, maybe great, but he didn't put up much of a game against the Redskins in 2024. Some/much of that was JD5, of course, but it does make me concerned.
It would be a great addition, no doubt there.
1) he didn’t play that team. That team didn’t exist in 2024
2) evaluating a single game against one opponent because that’s the only game you’ve seen is a very, very silly way to approach player eval. Perhaps the silliest 😵💫
Cleveland might want picks in 2026 & 2027.. to have ammo to get their QB in 2026…
Look at the Khalil Mack trade!
Chicago gave up a 2019 1st, 2019 6th, 2020 1st, 2020 3rd for Mack, a 2020 2nd, 2020 conditional 5th.. why would Garrett get a bigger return and he is 2 years older? Awful proposal
Mack is 34 and considering retirement. That's a hard pass.
Buy big name players just like Dan Snyder!
The Latimore trade looms heavily over my decision. It’s a no for me.
🤡 comment honestly
Do it. Give up Allen or Payne, Coleman, Mike Sainristil, a first and two second round choices.
