I've been using the DMP A6 Master Edition w/ an internal linear power supply unit, 2TB Samsung 990 SSD and a Pioneer USB disc drive for ripping/playing CDs.
I'm very happy with the Eversolo if I'm being honest. I don't have a ton of experience with streamers, but I really like this one. Granted, the $$$ I've invested into my DMP A6 M.E. at this point is pretty ridiculous.
At any rate, I use my Eversolo DMP A6 M.E. for Tidal streaming and as a "hub" for my digital audio files. The Eversolo connects to a Black Ice Audio FusionF360 stereo preamp via XLR and then to an Emotiva XPA-TWO power amp via XLR. I have a pair of the Arendal 1723 THX floor standing speakers and a pair of Emotiva's XS12 12" powered subwoofers.
I'm real happy with my "digital chain". Not gonna lie...

I'm only 13 months into this, but I'm really happy with the sound I'm getting.
I need "better" subs next. I think I may do something custom. Stereo Integrity have a humongous subwoofer right now that looks and sounds incredible. I don't hate the idea of doing a pair of the 18" version of that Stereo Integrity sub in sealed boxes.
I definitely need something that's loud/big...but sealed. Custom is my only option as I can't afford the really expensive HiFi stuff.

Great review guys! I’ve got a couple of questions if you don’t mind.
1. Does the HDMI ARC input work with digital coax out? Does the volume control work in this mode?
2. Is there a difference in SQ between these devices when used with coax out to a dedicated DAC?

Yes! It is a subtle difference between units when using a DAC but there is still a difference! The HDMI Arc should still work when using a DAC but I haven’t tested it myself!

I’m waiting on them doing a firmware upgrade which should add balance control to the DSP before I think of trying the 8.

The system at the store was the Fyne Audio 704 with a Primaluna EVO 400

That is a great question it will be more of a subtle difference
As a streamer only any reason to go above 6?
Good question! We tested that out too and it was a more subtle difference but still a slight difference. I would say the A6 to the A8 was a better jump if only using as a streamer vs the A6 master.
I did have one question. I ordered the Eversolo A8. Does it have a way to keep all tracks in one volume level?? Not sure what the technical name of it is. But I believe Apple music used to have that feature.
I ordered my Eversolo A8 because of these gentlemen. My son researched the machines for me and bingo the video sold me. I am a past client but the new generation sees videos for info. I use to call Keven and ask questions. I guess that’s old fashion. Great move on Keven’s end keeping up with the times.
Another hit gentlemen. I have watched all of videos from the major TH-camrs on each of these 3 units over the past few months. Honestly, you brought quite a bit to the table with your review, and even a few things that were left out of those other reviews.
For example, this was the first time seeing the touch screen in action to this extent.
Also, your description of the sound, instrument separation, as well as the depth and width of the soundstage stood out and was unique...essential information for any enthusiast.

I like how you described the sound without using audiophile nonsense terms like chocolaty or velvety. Depth, width, natural voices and bass are concepts we can understand.

Im thinking of the DuMPy EVER SOLO 6 what are the best upgrades?
My nephew has the A8 and it sounds amazing to me and I am a vinyl fan. Listening to Tidal is like being reborn, hearing many recording as if for the first time. It shocked me as my ifi go bar DAC has made me happy with digital using Tidal and I love it for listening on the move, will have to save up for that A8. I have not heard the A6 or master edition myself. I find modern vinyl mastering is disappointing in the whole and think thats where I would find digital better. The older vinyl masters were created by gods and I do not think I will ever stop listening to those vinyl records.
Hi, Thank you for that awesome review. Kindly advise if I can deactivate the pre amp on the Eversolo Dmp A6 , when I connect to my Marantz Pm 7200 intregrated amp. If so how
I own a good amount of multichannel (including SACD, DVD-A & PABD 5.1 channel and other) content and have been looking for a streamer and overall player to manage the library I´ve stored in my NAS through DLNA. Reading the user manual for the A6 and A8, they do state that the A6 handles multichannel through its HDMI out port, whereas the A8 lacks such a port, and instead, it has an IIS out jack that could only be connected to an external DAC with an IIS input port. Am I missing something or it is true that the manufacturers of Eversolo did not include this functionality on the A8?

Hey you could get some great stuff! Two of my mind would be the Primaluna EVO 100 DAC if you want tubes or the Ferrum WANDLA! If you wanted more in depth advice we can definitely get you with one of our experts!
The A8 is the hype AKM 4499/4491 chip. Supposed to be really good. Would there be a difference to justify going external? Also if going that route, would it be just as good going with A6 and external DAC?
You understand what the hell you are explaining there and why you had to be two to say what a streamer does compared to the other streamer.
You confuse more than you explain.
I got an A8 back in March and am extremely happy with it. As you said, vocals sound natural and there is impressive soundstage. It even makes older poor recordings bearable to listen to, something my old streamer, an Eweat (MyMei) DMP-50 (I believe is made by the Eversolo/Zidoo OEM), could never do. I have paired the Eversolo to a Hypex Nilai500DIY 250W stereo power amplifier, a class d amp that sounds extremely detailed yet silky smooth with no top end harshness.

A6 Much better since update. No drop outs and the ‘Music’ library is more functional but still has a way to go. The sound with my external dac (RME ADI-2) is top notch, no complaints

Newb question: If I play a concert DVD through a cheap player, but have a great DAC is it not going to sound good? If not how do you watch concert DVD's and get reference or at least midfi sound? Thanks.
Nothing is going to be better then your source (the dvd) you should look at blu ray concerts and I think Amazon has a streaming service for concerts some are even in atmos!

My A8 outputs earth noise into the amp. Swapped it and the second one was no different. Nice unit but it’s not perfect inside obviously. Maybe I will try a A6 to see if it’s cleaner.
go A6 ME with the PD Creative power supply upgrade from poland. Is a fabulous combination.
If going changing power supply to PD, will it out perform the A8 power supply?
Most people miss the amazing ability of A6 HDMI output for multichannel DSD / DSF (SACD) and PCM 7.1 file playback.
Try listening to Billy Joel's The Stranger in multichannel DSD in a high quality audiophile surround setup. You will be entranced.
I will definitely take it home soon and test that out!

@mix_it_up_bro8735 you are correct get the DMP A6 and a ebay Sony bluray player to rip your SACD investment to .dsf files. The Eversolo DMP A6 will play the multichannel DSD content prefectly.
Did you use these as preamps?
We did after the video with a T+A power amp!
Opinion after using as preamp
I use the regular A6 as a streamer using Roon, a DAC and preamp in my garage system directly into a Purifi power amp and Monitor Audio bookshelf speakers. I love it and think it’s the greatest bang for one’s buck in audio. Inside the house I’ve used a Lumin X1 and frankly, I can’t discern a substantial difference to justify spending around 14x the price for the Lumin. Really excellent product!

HDMI ARC? Because HDMI audio out is already present on A6’s, but not ARC like on A8
