I went to WDW last November with some older family members and we got them scooters. They were fantastic and made the parks a lot more fun for them and us. You are better off getting the scooters from off property which is what it looks like you got for your Dad. They were cheaper and better quality than the Disney version which one family member chose to rent because you can get them once you arrive at the park and not have to take them on the buses. The off property company also delivered them to POP Century just like for your Dad and picked them back up when our trip was over. We were able to charge our scooter outside the room. I'll never go to the Disney parks again without renting scooters for elderly family members who have mobility issues.

Kathy Farris i learned early in my disney days that when their is a chance of rain, wear athletic clothes or even a swimsuit. Waterproof your stuff and just say hakuna matata and just commit to be rained on. Especially in the parks, every ride is basically no wait
Couple of reasons why I loved this video. First I enjoyed the interaction with you and your dad. Second is even in Walt Disney World were they go so far and above what people expect there are some things they can not control. Third I enjoyed how you handled the challenges and as I tell everyone problems in Disney are first world problems. I understand how the luggage issue can be serious. I have night time meds I need to take but still goes to show that lemonade from lemons still applies in Disney! Thanks Michael and Mr. Kay I hope you have a wonderful trip.

It's been 3 years since I have been to the parks and it hurts to be away for so long! It's tough getting there from Australia! But thank you for your vlogs! Helps me to have a piece of the magic on the other side of the world.

Your dad is so adorable. For such a long day, he really kept up well. I would have been drained (and grouchy) by the time I got to the resort but he kept going and always had a smile on his face.

My husband will need to rent a scooter for our trip in August, so I am very interested to see how your amazing dad makes it through the parks. Parking in the room is going to be the first problem I see. Also, are you able to name the company you rented from and was it a good experience with that company?
Pam Rosendahl I was at Disney World a year ago. My daughter was insistent I use scooter. It truly was a lifesaver! You are in a separate line with your family getting on rides. The cast members are so helpful . The bus drivers are helpful, guiding you on to the bus and parking it in a special area. You park your scooter outside your hotel room , plug it in to charge , then keep your key with you. DON't Try to take it in your room ! Has your husband used a scooter before?If not, start with the speed all the way down on slow and increase speed gradually . My only complaint was the people who delivered my scooter just gave us the key with no basic instructions .Using the scooter helped me to have wonderful time with my daughter and 4 year old granddaughter. I know you""ll have a wonderful time there.

When we evacuated to Art of Animation for Hurricane Irma, we had a family member with a scooter. Luckily, we were in one of the family suites, so we had a little extra room. I’ve been watching for this video! My daughter and I was waiting on your plane, leaving Orlando after our very first Disney Dream Cruise. We left the cruise ship early to give us plenty of time to make our early afternoon flight to end up sitting in the airport over 10 hours!! It was a nightmare. It was cool to see you coming off the plane videoing and having your dad there with you. Thanks for putting a smile on my face after a very long and frustrating day.
Delayed luggage reminds me of this: My Mom and her Sister took a 'girls vacation' to WDW to stay at the Poly. Delta lost their luggage. So they get to the poly and with no luggage and had reservations for the Luau. This was early/mid 70's and both them were children of the depression so that didn't stop them. They went to front desk and asked for some safety pins and bandaids (they had no strapless bras). Then back to the room and fashioned "moo moos" out of the flora print bed sheets. Then back to the front desk and the staff provided them with some flowers cut from front desk flora arrangements for their hair. And they got applause from all the staff when they saw them in their 'bed sheet' moo moos.
We are so excited for these vlogs!!! Love that you keep that positive attitude after what must have been a challenging and exhausting travel day! Can’t wait to see what magical adventures happen in tomorrow’s vlog. 😄

So glad to see you and your dad together on your F & G adventure. Yes I have to agree safety first, but it sure does make it hard to wait when you really want to be in the middle of the magic. I had to use a scooter for my husband last year and found a lot of challenges for scooters. I hope you found the map for mobility while at the parks. It helps to look at it the night prior to plan your day. Oh and I loved your parking the scooter in the room- what a hoot!

Wow Michael you handled those deltas with ease. The same thing happened during my first trip to WDW, but at the end of my trip. Great video with your dad and can't wait to see the rest of the trip.
Glad you made it! It does happen. My husband's flight was delayed 5hours back in March from BWI to MCO. He even had to get off the plane and go to a different terminal. He was lucky because it was the last flight out, but he didn't get to the resort until 2am. Always, safety first!
A delay is frustrating because you just want to be there so bad but you and your dad handled it like champs. Managing a Disney visit with mobility issues is eye opening. Last year my daughter had to use a wheelchair because of a leg injury at Disney and it sure puts a new spin on your vacation
Michael, I really admire how positive you were able to remain in the face of the frustrating delays. Also, proud of your Dad for getting the scooter, I know some people struggle with wanting one but not quite being willing to admit it. It must have made the trip far easier, and I look forward to hearing the insights it gives you.
I was there at the same time, and went through the same thing on travel day, and waited in that long line for magical express! Ug, just glad you made it. :-)

We had a 6 hour delay coming back from Disneyland once. I keep thinking we could have spent more time in park. But things happen out of your control. It's all how you handle it. You did great!
Sorry to hear that you weren’t able to get to the parks the first day (and didn’t get your luggage before dad fell asleep) but at least you were able to look on the bright side of things. We had a scooter our entire 1st trip to WDW. My dream come true. Anyway my daughter was unable to walk. So we rented a scooter from an outside company. I will say we did not have a parking issue in our room because we stayed in the one bedroom garden suite at the Contemporary. 💕 Michael Kay you must treat yourself it was so nice. The entire room overlooked the lake. I do think for us that we had a great experience with the scooter especially getting on and off the Monorail and buses.
You handled just sitting on the plane very well, I would have went insane (I don't do well sitting still, especially in a small space like a plane). You had me cracking up over trying to get the scooter situated in the room. So glad you filmed it, very entertaining...LOL

So glad to see you and your dad together on your F & G adventure. Yes I have to agree safety first, but it sure does make it hard to wait when you really want to be in the middle of the magic. I had to use a scooter for my husband last year and found a lot of challenges for scooters. I hope you found the map for mobility while at the parks. It helps to look at it the night prior to plan your day. Oh and I loved your parking the scooter in the room- what a hoot!

Would not expect that a video of people waiting on a flight delay could be interesting, but you and your dad certainly made it just that. You do a great job with storytelling and video editing. I will certainly think of this the next time I take a flight.

Glad you made it! It does happen. My husband's flight was delayed 5hours back in March from BWI to MCO. He even had to get off the plane and go to a different terminal. He was lucky because it was the last flight out, but he didn't get to the resort until 2am. Always, safety first!
A delay is frustrating because you just want to be there so bad but you and your dad handled it like champs. Managing a Disney visit with mobility issues is eye opening. Last year my daughter had to use a wheelchair because of a leg injury at Disney and it sure puts a new spin on your vacation

Michael, I really admire how positive you were able to remain in the face of the frustrating delays. Also, proud of your Dad for getting the scooter, I know some people struggle with wanting one but not quite being willing to admit it. We had a 6 hour delay coming back from Disneyland once. I keep thinking we could have spent more time in park. But things happen out of your control. It's all how you handle it. You did great!
Sorry to hear that you weren’t able to get to the parks the first day (and didn’t get your luggage before dad fell asleep) but at least you were able to look on the bright side of things. You made it to the magic and can get up early to get to the parks at opening. Look forward to seeing more of the fun you are having with your dad!

We had a scooter our entire 1st trip to WDW. My dream come true. Anyway my daughter was unable to walk. So we rented a scooter from an outside company. I will say we did not have a parking issue in our room because we stayed in the one bedroom garden suite at the Contemporary. 💕 Michael Kay you must treat yourself it was so nice. The entire room overlooked the lake. I do think for us that we had a great experience with the scooter especially getting on and off the Monorail and buses.

You handled just sitting on the plane very well, I would have went insane (I don't do well sitting still, especially in a small space like a plane). You had me cracking up over trying to get the scooter situated in the room. So glad you filmed it, very entertaining...LOL
