Great Overview. Waiting for my copy to arrive. Very excited to play the new edition. I still have my original AH edition. Can't wait to hear your review or AAR of this game.
Hi. I played the original Avalon Hill version quite a bit back in the 70s. I am about 5 turns into a new play through with this edition and am really enjoying it. I appreciate the large counters and hexes, with the setup information on the back. Really great for the eyes. Plus having the odds counters are nice to mark the battles. It does take up a lot of table space. Another thing I like is having all the optional rules consolidated in one place, with counters where needed. You can make the game simulate more of the historical aspects, or open it up to what ifs ( for example the weather). Overall, very happy with this one.
@@KWHgames It seems there are no actual mountain located there - the original game has them and some folk don't want them there. I think I read that the designer added the mountains to balance the game, giving the Russians a better defensive capability against German breakthroughs in that sector. GMT is giving players the choice by providing the map overlay....
I missed this one as well, but not now, thanks.
