Trolling Motor Tips: A Potential Fix for Lowrance Ghost Problems

Our head trolling motor technicians, Scott Williams, discusses a potential fix for Lowrance Ghost problems. Sometimes a simple fix can be all that is necessary. In this video, Scott gives a quick review on how to reset a Ghost trolling motor, which gives us a fix that could completely take care of any issues with the Lowrance Ghost.

What an unbelievably, informative video. I have installed firmware for the second time with my lowrance, and it always seems to malfunction after I do. This video, was fantastic! What if head arrow flashing and nothing works ? No sound just flashing .

I am having issues with my ghost just powering off for no reason. usually happens at the beginning of the day but not always. And usually when its hard left or right and you initially step on the pedal. It powers right back on and works fine. Would this process help that?
I also heard you mention a positive stop, mine hits a positive stop both ways, is that not normal?

I am having a problem with my spot lock turning off, after It does this when I hit the anchor button again the direction arrow on top of the trolling motor flashes and no spot lock. Do you think doing these procedures could help this issue. Thanks

How long should it take when u reset it when it's flashing between 24 and 36 volts.

What if your trolling motor is 36 Volts?

The Ghost runs 36 or 24 Volt

Based on Lowrance instruction th-cam.com/video/auyEMP9fx9s/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Lowrance , they align the direction with the boat and not with the lowrance sign on the trolling motor which is confusing.

That is the bow offset once mounted on the boat. This video recalibrates, and also reprogram's the boards back to factory settings. It is what we try first before we Starrt changing out parts. And this information was not found in the owners manuals.
