In my own to use a modern term head cannon Kate got diagnosed with cancer and Norman curtis got a letter from bettyjoe and took her on a world tour before she passed at home and the whole town was too sad too ever talk about it
Obviously, this episode is really part 2 of "Hawaii Calling"as part one great as it was with the beautiful "Hello World" number, didn't have a real conclusion to it,but this second part does. Every now and then this series would do a two part episode just like the one that introduced Steve Elliott. Then again the season one premiere episode in 1963 was FOUR parts long! Episode 5"The Courtship Of Floyd Smoot" was the first "self-contained" entry in PETTICOAT JUNCTION. Following the episode we see here, the show gets back to stand alone stories. Much of the first half of season 5 was serialized, most episode leading up to Steve & Betty Jo's wedding and climaxing with this wonderful two part honeymoon saga. Anyhow that's how it appears to me. Any thoughts.
