Council meetings are always populated by people who are full of their own self importance, This is where a good chunk of your council tax goes folks to people who behave like overblown kids.

To be fair I think it's voluntary and they only get certain expenses (apologies if I've got that wrong though). I'm sure there are at least some people on such councils who genuinely want to do some good for their communities. It's so easy for us to be critical but how many of us would give up our free time to do this sort of stuff? Even retirees would usually want to just enjoy their free time after years of work. Their efficiency probably varies widely between areas as well depending on the characters involved. Let's hope they're not all as divided as HPC anyway! 😊

I've just read the comments below mine. I'm flabbergasted about their bias against the councillor who walked out. Yes these events should be filmed BUT it is not for the cameraman too choose what is or is not filmed. The camera should have a wide angle lens so ALL of the councillors are filmed at the same time, not just the one the cameraman choses to film, especially when business is being carried out by other councillors who are out of view.
It’s a member of the public in a public meeting and has a right to record who and what he wants
@@ryanredmond87 The cameraman may have the right to do as you say. It does however seem the he/she was exercising that right with a bias.
@@tonyb83 if there’s been an issue with that councillor in the past it’s likely they were the reason they were filming,I hardly doubt it was because they enjoy the thrill of full meetings,all public meetings can legally be recorded however most never are, when they are recorded it’s usually for a reason

Now look what you've done!! They'll have to call an emergency meeting to set up a sub committee of the Legal committee and employ a barrister to consider what if any legal recourse they have against you!!!!!! How dare you question their value?
In addition they will need to set up a sub committee of the Health and Safety committee to deal with the trauma your post has caused the council members which will, of course, require a full Psych. evaluation of all members!!!!!

People need to retire when they are 55, most people older than that show a decline in capabilities and a decline in mental well being and aren't able to cope to do a job. Put retirement age to 55.

@@TheNotSoFakeNews statistics state that 78% (in an upwards trend) show a significant decline in cognitive abilities after the age of 55 Thats a large margin.... try running a company on 22% capacity with the 78% causing issues that need fixing so putting more pressure on the capable workers.

@@Lumino3 if we reduced politician wages to 0 and reduced foreign aid to 0 we would have decreased the national deficit by under 2%. If we would have reduced social security to 0, which includes pensions, as well as any other money given by the government to people in need- most notably job seekers allowance. We would still have to worry about the rest of the 70% of the deficit.
Also people are living to older and older ages, meaning the amount spent on state pensions are increasing every year.
