Amen to that! My sentiments exactly. I watched this channel for the creativity and quality of design features resulting in efficiency of use of space. Having more space isn't a solution when it's utilised poorly.
Amazing! Love the fact the client stated they don’t cook much but has lots of books. So, a broken up kitchen and huge wall bookshelf were the priority. Also, the lighted glass covered bathroom vanity is a nice touch! 🟩⬛️
This is excellent "client-centric" work, which has considered the clients needs perfectly. I like the pocket doors too, a great way to allow the light throughout. As a designer, I would have picked up the colour of the original radiators too, somewhere, but that's just me. Very nice turn around of a small apartment.
How the architect managed to make the living room, bedroom and bathroom feel so spacious is an enviable acheivement. The strategic placing of the mirrors to both visually extend the walls and illumiate the apartment is such a big win. Well done!
The storage solutions are fantastic in the kitchen and loungeroom. Having a single toilet as part of an ensuite to the main bedroom is an awkward floorplan. When a guest needs to use the toilet they must enter via the bedroom. I would have had a separate toilet with a pedestal basin (very small powder room) on the other side of the bathroom.
Yes that was my worry too. Could the entrance to the loo not be made from the hall rather than the bedroom? Maybe the owner doesn’t ever have people staying over🤷♀️ Otherwise a lovely job, well done.
Great use of floor ceiling storage and the sliding door that can separate the dining/kitchen and living room and which can turn the living room to a guest room. Oh and that shade of green is really beautiful! 👏
Love that glass doored bathroom cabinet with integrated lighting and mirrored interior back cabinet wall. Not something I have seen in many bathrooms and looks really stylish.
The way the kitchen is divided from the living room with that sliding door catches my attention, and the apartment has very good natural lighting, which I think is great
I feel that this design offers "unity" throughout the apartment. Also lovely. And I'mso impressed with all the English-language skills of the international architects and designers.
So many people decorate a house, thinking how can I add value if I sell and what would the majority want! It's great to see these small spaces really personalised for the sole use of the owner i.e small kitchen, big shelf unit! We are doing the same in our small apartment and it's really exciting to just think what is it that we need! Lovely apartment and a great use of mirrors!
I like the look and feel of this apartment. I'd personally find so many large mirrors somewhat intimidating, but it's a personal thing. I really like small personal touches, like books in the bathroom and, a bed that isn't over styled with dozens of cushions:) It looks very inviting and cosy.
Nicely done, with the room dividers, lighting and storage. I would have said previously also that the bathroom being accessible only through the bedroom is abit off, however after living in abroad and having the only bathroom access from the primary in my apartment. It's not a big issue, it's about how you feel in the space. 💚
I love the windows in the unit. I was in an hotel in an older building in Paris and the triple glazed windows were so good you could not hear the sirens from a nearby police station.or the street traffic.
I love this renovation - so clever for such a tricky space. The hidden bedroom is awesome - great to have that privacy when guests come over and the bathroom is beautiful. I really like the use of mirrors everywhere and the combined bookcase/tv is great too.
Every time Gon Architects appear I know I'm going to love the concept of the house. Congatulations ❤ The only thing that I feel weird is having a mirror just in the entry, so strange to see yourself reflectect while you enter!
I get that mirror can create a more spacious space, but mirrors everywhere? You really have to love to stare at yourself all the time to wanna have such interior. I personally want to look at myself when I choose, not when I open the fridge.
That might be the perfect time to look at oneself. That said, I was immediately concerned about cleaning fingerprints and potential for cracked mirrors
Walls that are entirely mirrored, particularly that many of them, always feel like a shopping mall hair salon to me. And they just reflect each other-rather than a mirror that repeats a great view from an opposite window. (An appliance garage for someone who clearly doesn’t cook? Why?)
@@kitsburrard5530Agree. I prefer mirrors in beautiful frames but then I like a more traditional style. These apartments use space very efficiently and you can get some good ideas but rarely do the spaces appeal to me. They are too sparse and cold.
I am more into contemporary style but still I could live in this one, it has a soft seventies charm to it. Love that floor to ceilings storage units and the pocket glass door to separate the living room makes it so cozy.
Clever dropping in the pops of red with the pipes, furniture, appliances, and other items. The living room with the sliding doors definitely makes it do double-duty as a guestroom - I like that approach.
The spaces particularly the bedroom are very nice. The use of big windows, mirrors and glass sliding doors adds to the sense of space. That said, while I like that shade of green in contrast to the wood finish and black stone of the bathroom I think it kinda of gets lost next to the white walls, to the point that I feel like colors should have been flipped to be green with white highlights rather than the reverse. The overall apartment space itself is a bit awkward what with the bathroom only accessible via the bedroom (never mind a messy kitchen!) and that only accessible through a hidden door. If I were to change one thing about apartment's layout, it would be that.
It's all about the client's needs - he said he didn't cook much and seemed to be a singleton. And bathroom being only accessible from the bedroom is no problem - invite only people who are close family members or really good friends to stay overnight. I'd take the apartment in a heartbeat though. It's right in the middle of a great neighbourhood in a great city and really beautifully done.
I am a guest. My privacy is a see-through door. Then I want to pee, and I have to say hi as I go through their bedroom. Doesn't work on a human level for me.
It works because the priority is the owner not the guest (for the toilet part) but I agree that having doors less translucid would be nice. You used the term "see-through", it is not.
waow so cool and functional, i’d just add a rug and a coffee table in the living room, and maybe not chosen a black bathroom but more of mediterranean vibe, but that’s on point with the client’s demand and maybe just a detail but the window in the living room is so cool and so fun
Wow. This apartment is full of surprises. So much storage. The mint color is so refreshing. Are the windows tinted so people across the way can't see in? I love the glass cabinet in the bathroom. A wonderful apartment.
the living room is great in its simplicity! in case there's a need for a big desk for working, you could easily move the sofa closer to the TV wall and have a large table to work on (which could possibly be moved against the translucent door to allow for the guest bed?). in any case, a really really lovely apartment that i would love to see myself living in 🤍
the design is beautiful, the only problem is that there is no bathroom for guests. They still need to go to the owner's bedroom if they need to use the bathroom/toilet
I think the mirrors are overdone. For example it was a relief when the wardrobe doors were shown open as opposed to a bank of mirrors. Mirrors are confusing and not restful to the eye. Also the space above the washer dryer could have used some organization.
Beautiful home, it resembles the client character without a doubt. I find it curious that the client wanted light green with lots of mirrors for the kitchen and living room whereas he wanted a complete black bathroom.
beautiful design, love the mint green and especially the bookshelf but i dont like the mirrors, theyre cold and creating too much reflecting surfaces. especially in the bedroom it makes it less cozy imo
I like the color scheme. The full wall mirror in the bedroom is a bit too much for me tho (its not good in fengshui) and the sofa could act like a dining area imo.
When I heard ‘had a lot of books’ I was excited to see it. But then when I saw the bookshelf and compared it to my collection, I thought: My friend, that is NOT a lot of books. For me, every wall would need that shelving unit.
This is a no for me. Too many mirrors make the space feel very confusing. There's too much harsh white lighting. It a looks a bit cheap to me. You can't really put a sofa, a red chair and a simple bookcase in the living room and call it design. The sliding doors are really clever but don't provide privacy. Also, I know the client wanted it, but that black bathroom has more potential I feel...They broke the black color with the wood, which was a good move. However, they could've added a bit more to break the black interior. The harsh white light is even more harsh in this environment. I do love the pastel green color though, very nice.
The grid and concept - lovely, smart. Love the celadon green. The only let down for me is the very mundane (shape, even stiffness) living room sofa, the harsh, flat *lighting in the bedroom, and nothing to soften the windows! Some Japanese roll shades would give more texture, allow light variation into the space, and yet still be an understated, clean presentation. And while not a let down, just a curiosity, does this owner not possess ANY art work? No drawings, paintings? This would also give greater soulfulness and texture to the space.
The design is great and I love how client-centered it is. I was surprised to hear spanish, which I'm glad about, but the audio editing feels weird as a spanish speaker. Almost like it has been slowed down and sped up at some points? Anyhow, beautiful apartment :)

Also notably the pops of red to set off the cool mint and soft warmth of wood.

Bravo. Not only does the apartment has smart storage & layout, it's warm, cozy & elegant from your well thought design & mateen's.

Love the unusual floors. The amount of storage is fantastic. And pocket doors always make me smile. :)
Absolutely love this specific tone of green! I do like this apartment, but the overly extensive use of mirrors is quite disorientating.
