In general, Murphy and KNBR hosts suck up to guests so listen more before rushing to judgment. Giant fans can be happy with Fitz, Ramos and Walker. A few bullpen guys improved but not enough to mention as their roles may evolve next season. What broadcasters say should be taken with grain of salt especially if they never played position they speak of or are a softy not paying attn outside SF. Three bad seasons, with injury bad luck and bad seasons from key players, weak fundamentals, no execution and just BAD baseball is not good optics. In Zaidi's defense, Mgr platoons, out of position experiments, openers, weak farm hands and new skipper learning his players hurt Giants. This team needs tough love, high standards and players need to be confident in who they are as a player and improve on THAT to go far. Gifted athletes make NFL and NBA but not necessarily Mlb.
Typical Yas, the numbers perk up once the Giants are basically eliminated, once the pressure is off and the games no longer matter cuz the Giants have nothing to play for, once their season is over Yas goes on a nice little hot streak that brings his numbers up to something that feels semi respectable. Yas = BAD when it matters/OK when it doesn't. Mike Yastremski HAS A .196 BATTING AVG WITH RISP (It was .186 a few days ago....) he is one of the worst on the team and that's saying something cuz the Giants are ABYSMAL WITH RISP. RISP Patrick Bailey .221 awful Mark Canha .272 good Matt Chapman .224 awful Tyler Fitzgerald .180 abysmal Casey Schmitt .154 (he gets a pass cuz its only 26 at bats) La'Monte Wade .288 great Brett Wisely .315 awesome Michael Conforto .224 awful Grant McCray .158 (he gets a pass cuz its only 19 at bats) Heliot Ramos .295 great Mike Yastremski .196 abysmal Do you see the problem here... Bailey, Chapman Conforto and Yastremski are all starters who play almost every night, and they are all awful/abysmal with RISP, now if your hitting .295 like say Fitz, I don't care (as much) but when your Mike Conforto and your season avg is .224, and you hit .224 with RISP ITS A BIG FUKIN PROBLEM. Yas, Bailey, Conforto and Chapman have season averages at or below .240 and averages with RISP that are even worse... Ya wanna know why the Giants got shut out 3x in a row... SCROLL UP AND LOOK AT THE NUMBERS...
Not everyone handles expectations the same way. If you are an office worker and constantly put under the gun to achieve certain goals but management hasn't given you ANY tools to actually get those goals met, is it on the worker who was set up to fail or the management who failed to set his team up for success?
Murph & Markus is the morning duo on KNBR. Mac was laid off or fired months ago. And I think the posters below are correct in pointing out that there are two different Murphys with similar sounding first names, Brian & Bryan, the former being the radio host who also writes for KNBR's not very interesting blog.
Empty seats because SF fans are the worst. Look at Levi's stadium 10 years ago when the Niners weren't very good, look at the "New" Warrior fans when curry, Klay and Green came along. If the Sharks win the Cup, you will see all the new Attire, hats, key chains, etc. FRONT-RUNNERS!
Dude you need to do your homework before you skip directly to racism. Back in the Iraq War there was a famous clip of a statue of Saddam Hussein being pulled down via rope
Bro the gas lighting, virtue signaling and race card is a weak take. Farhan has under achieved and gets a D+ grade as gm at best. If the giants didn’t win 107 games in a fluke year it would be an F. Remember there’s no crying in baseball my boy
To be fair, baseball has a very heavy luck element. The problem is that Zaidi does not focus on the areas of the roster that need long term attention in favor of instant gratification players that are maybe OK or even good but doesn't fit the schemes of the Giants in the least.
Feel kinda bad for Farhan. Never been a huge fan but ownership has tied his hands. They don't like spending money so the avenue to get better is limited, doesn't help. Not a job I'd want.
Also never let Zaidi do a rebuild. A team like the Giants should not need to rebuild given their capital but 2017-2018 made as good a case for a rebuild as one can be made. Ownership only opened the vault after 2 mediocre seasons and that is the worst thing you can do. The Giants haven't shown an ounce of proactivity until this year. You can't expect to win like that. Rosters always require attention at different areas, and it is really bad when you try to compete without a core group of winners to build around.
Before you bring a problem up you need to have a solution well thought out. Before you make a major management change you need to have someone better wrapped up. Fact is, the majority of higher lever managers in sports are really exceptional at their jobs. So you want to dump Farhan Zaidi (who is above average at his job even though he certainly not perfect) who are you planning to replace him with?
The yaz stuff is ridiculous he has the same stats as Conforto essentially and people say Conforto sucks. I understand yaz is a bit better defensively but give it a rest yall.

its on farhan. fire him
How could you not hate Farhan? He sucks at his job and he’s responsible for making the team we love garbage and irrelevant.
He has the right to his opinion. Just like the rest of us do.
my man it is a game, you should not hate someone for that. He's not a good head of baseball ops but that doesn't mean you should hate him?

no farhans job cant be saved. do you see the empty seats? do you think empty seats buy beer and jerseys? owners are prob PISSED
i’m pretty sure as a fanbase we want farhan gone we need something different

I think Brian Murphy on KNBR and McConvey Chronicles writer are two different people.
I have always wondered about that. The MC one sounds a lot more intelligent.

they have the 7th largest payroll in mlb. thats bs
Just to clarify: there's Brian (KNBR) and Bryan Murphy (McCovey Chronicles)
I think Bryan Murphy's comments have been completely appropriate

Replace him with someone who can get the job done. In order to do that you need to REPLACE him.

there are more than one Brian Murphy...Bryan Murphy writes for mccovey chronicles...BRIAN Murphy is on KNBR. know your i's and y's
I sure they let Zaidi goes away. The Giants won’t win until he is gone.
Balt. is not playing good BB right now (2-8 in last 10) 7-14 in last 21
I don’t like the OPS either mann
Funny that you don't like Murph and Mac... more Murph, because I can't stand the product that has came from them TRIPLE E.... AHHHH ANNOYING
