Sounds to me like the GM abandoned his original plot when the ranger laughed in the hirelings face making them take the girl and leave. And just went and made everything up as he went while loosely connecting aspects of his original story
While not the light hearted adventure the group wanted, I kind of like the batshit absurdity of this campaign lol. With a better GM this would rule
i love a good cult!!! so hard to find i nice one to join irl these days might have to start my own
I mean i got halfway through the story before i have to clock in for work. This campaign actaully sounded pretty fun. Ranger sounds like more of a problem than a gm that couldve just used some feed back.
3:22 I'm not sure that was really the player's fault. The whole table wanted to play a wacky fantastical game and now you all were stuck in a super-cereal lifelike game. Honestly, I'm surprised the ranger stuck it out long enough to get to that point in the story.
9:34 wait...what about the plague? Aren't the players still dying from the plague?
Sounds like a mash-up of "Rime of the Frost Maiden" and "Curse of Strahd" that then almost immediately fell off a cliff.
The DM definitely took from different sources and didn't know where he was going
That is a straight up nightmare.
On the upside, I will use this as a cautionary tale for future stories.
Curious about the awesome artwork here. Love it! Where is it from, who is the artist?
Controversially, Midjourney, plus a dash of Photoshop
