My Mum and Dad both worked for Lucas in Burnley and I had an interview with Mr Law in the film for an apprenticeship which I didn’t get. Although I was disappointed at the time I ended up working in Monaco which would never have happened if I’d of got a Lucas apprenticeship on Daneshouse Road. Strange how life takes you in certain directions but I loved Lucas, especially their cricket field in Readley.

Great video, David. Some marvellous memories there and a very worthy piece of local history. I was there in 1975-1977, pre-computer, but the routine was the same. I remember working with you at Northbridge toolroom, on the jig grinder ( a noisy machine!) and you leaving to become an instructor. Well done, and thank you for posting.

Thanks David you should have published this years ago. It has brought back loads of great memories. Where would we all be now it it wasn't for you, Danny and Mr Law being on our backs all day:) . My life changed completely 8/8/1977, first day at engineering school with Bert Tat as instructor

Thanks David, no connection with Lucas, tho my wife worked there in the seventies. Nice to see Barden School and the sports field, had a lesson on cricket from the great Basil D'Oliveira on there!
