I love cookbooks! I read them like novels. I wish I was friends with Ina Garten as I would love to go to her house for lunch...LOL. Oh my goodness your tablescape is gorgeous. You did such a lovely job at your afternoon tea for the bride-to-be. How lucky was she to have such a good friend. Jamie Oliver is one of my favorite chefs, I used to watch his show on the Food Network. Nigella was always fun to watch too. Oh my goodness, you were in NY? I live in upstate NY. If/when you go back, please let me know so we can arrange a meet up. Anyhoo, what a wonderful cookbook collection you have! I married in 1997 and I remember getting the Betty Crocker 3 ring binder cookbook at my bridal shower. It is great for beginner cooks. By the way, 2 Elizabeth Bard books arrived yesterday and the Bloom NY, Paris and London are ordered! My poor husband just rolls his eyes with all my book packages on the front porch.

Ina's house is just the most gorgeous isn't it?! I love her garden! And Jeffrey! Her TV show is so fab. Thank you - it was a fun tea to do! I'm so pleased you enjoy my book recommendations and what a lovely pile of books you've ordered! xxx

I bought my first cookbook when I was15, The Reader's Digest Cookery Year. I still use it from time to time, nearly 50 years later. I love baking books and will read them avidly, planning all the delicious bakes I want to make. I have loads but my current favourites are Scandilicious by Signe Johansen, Sweet Paris by Michael Paul and A Homemade Life by Molly Wizenberg.

I just love cookbooks, I'm so glad you did another video on them. i really think One Pot by Martha Stewart would be great for beginners!

    Hi Miranda,
So enjoyed your cookbook chat! I love Nigella Lawson and I have all her cookbooks. I do have a copy of Nigellissima. I made her Cappuccino Pavlova for my husbands birthday. An the family loved it.... My very first cookbook was in high school. The Commonsense Cookery Book. Compiled by the NSW Public School Cookery Teachers Association. (In Australia). Published by Angus & Robertson 1970. Basic cookery, But effective.... The Australian Women’s Weekly cookbooks are many and varied, but the recipes work and are tasty! I like them, only probably not too available in the U.K.

I love your red and white tea! My son is learning to cook using Mark Bittman’s Basics. I love his international book. (They have American measurements, though.)

This is so fun! I love to cook and always have a handful of cookbooks checked out from the library. When I was learning to cook in college, I used two cookbooks called More With Less and Simply in Season. I still use Simply in Season a lot because I love cooking with in-season vegetables when I can. I also loved watching the River Cottage cooking shows. They used to be on You Tube, I think, and I have a couple of Hugh's cookbooks.

Great video, I will definitely check out The Quick Roasting Tin. Georgina Hayden’s Stirring Slowly was my go-to book when I became serious about learning to cook last year. I also think you described my kitchen at 8:29 haha!
