I subscribed to your channel solely on the content of this post. I visited Valencia for the first time last May, did my research on food and hit all the iconic Valencian food and drink stops. I already knew that we were going for several more visits. This post takes it to another level of "must seek out" on the next visit.👏
Great video as always Dan! You have inspired me to go back to Valencia with my wife now that the kids have left home and we can enjoy the local food without having to compromise.
Mmmm, those pastries look so delicious 😋 I have never hear of dogfish before! This is what I love about your channel Dan, it’s always great to hear about new foods I never knew existed! 😂 thank you so much for sharing your knowledge & journey with us, it is greatly appreciated indeed. With lots of love and big hugs to you both. From Aberdeenshire Scotland 🤗xxx
@@DanFandelli Thanks Dan, but unfortunately it’s only rain we’ve been getting so far!😟But Hopefully we’ll see a hot & sunny August when our Royal Family arrives here for their summer break! 😀xx
Went to this place this morning. Incredible place and I couldn't believe how early both men and women drink. Like 10am drinking beer and whisky. I ordered what you did too, delicious.
it is, i am guilty of going to madrid for all my holidays (i live in estepona so its a easy trip on the bus for me) but yeh after this i might try valencia next time.
Well other parts of Spain like Valencia, Murcia, the Basque Country and Galicia have local food specialties, but also in the plateau of Castilla, Extremadura, Rioja, Navarra, Aragón, etc.
@@rupert-j8flf you only known Madrid and Barcelona you are missing hundreds of great places in Spain, like Granada, Córdoba, Seville, Málaga, Cádiz, Alicante, Valencia, Aragón, all the northern strip, Extremadura, ... Far too many things to see and eat outside of the two main cities.
bocadillo really is with pickles and a cofee after to end, also if u are in valencia u must go to the saint vicent jail, because u dont understand old valencia town,to make about atzutacs in valencia or the last verdugo when he love is only story but perhaps u will enter a bit in valencia old town, thanks for ur view it looks interesting the shrink bocadillo was in west avenue i dont remember who when was to valencia always eat as u,thanks
Next time, if you come back, avoid those tourist zones to eat. Taste places as Casa Rakel, El Trovador, Zacarias, Rausell, El Pilar, Blayet, Casa Roman, Casa Rocher, go to El Palmar, visit Russafa or/and Algiros or/and Cabanyal markets and ask the locals, or just go where the locals go.

ahah yeah, this is what locals in Valencia call breakfast, amazing isn't it 😁 My guess is that they don't really sit for a proper lunch at 1pm if they have had such a "snack" around 10-11am, but who knows
Loved the video and the insights into Spanish food. That battered calamari sandwich with the crusty bread and aioli looked amazing!
Glad you enjoyed it, that sandwich was indeed crazy!
Everything you try looks delectable! You have a penchant for perfectly explaining how each dish tastes and makes your channel a great vibe.
Thank you so much 😊

Fascinating place isn't it? It's unfortunate that most of such places are destined to be replaced by fast food chains sooner or later.....
Amazing video dan. Need more European food video❤
Thank you! More to come for sure!
it's nice to see other parts of Spain's culture and their cuisine besides Barcelona and Madrid..

I absolutely agree that we vloggers all go the same places sometimes 😅 but Im keen to change that in this channel!

The last place is permanently closed according to maps?
Mmm I think you are right, very unfortunate, as I don't think there are many other Freidurias in Valencia but I may be wrong

Great shout, thank you. I'm going to Valencia in a few days and your selection looks amazing! Particularly like the look of non-touristy El Trovador.
