How to Crochet Lacy Scarf, Shawl, EASY Pattern, Caron Simply Soft Party Yarn, Crochet Video Tutorial

- In this video I show how to crochet an easy lacy scarf or shawl using treble (triple) crochets. There is only one repeating row in the pattern (not including the first row of double crochets and last row of double crochets). This pattern can be easily adjusted to any custom size or used for another project.
Skill level: Beginner
Materials: about 450 yards (250 grams) of Caron Simply Soft Party yarn (3 skeins), color Spring Sprinkle (1 skein = 164 yards = 85 grams) , hook size I (5.5 mm)

Concerning the fringe, I always wash my projects when they are done. I put a fringe on a scarf one time and when it came out of the dryer, the fringe was ruined. It had untwisted. Any recommendations for washing garments with fringes. I’ve been afraid to use them ever since. I am not certain whether it was the washer or the dryer was the problem.
Hi Dawn, this is a good point you are bringing up! I always wash my crochet garments by hand and lay them flat to dry, and it's been fine. So I don't really have any suggestions or recommendations for machine washing/drying. But I am going to pin your comment and perhaps other crocheters can share some ideas!
@@OlgaPoltava That would make sense. I do wash some of the delicate ones by hand and dry out in the sunshine. Things like scarves that don’t really matter, I have put it in the dryer. I will take your advice.
Try rolling the scarf up and washing in a garment bag, and dry that way as well. Or you can lay the scarf out to dry. The garment bag usually works well for me.
@@dawnkurtz9541 l also use a machine on delicate cycle but l use 3 washing bags and put them in for safety you can get these washing bags nearly anywhere God bless
@@lorturano4413 I've done that it works well however the absolute best thing is to hand wash and dry flat if you are worried tassels will fall off. Happy hooking 😊

It's a multiple of 10, plus 5. I usually give that info in the description box below the video (unless I forget).
