Nah bro it's Nutley it's not even good enough for a small little pizza shop to "run that town" that town is as big as my car. Besides pretty sure that Indian deli owner who got the garbage tipped on him runs that town
@@YazzFlute Same but some chains are actually very good. Hungry howies, jets, cottage inn. But nothing will beat giordanos in chicago and detroit. Very expensive but still worth the price, $25 for a large cheese deep dish and $27 for 1 topping. It's worth the trip to detroit or chicago just to try it because you will never have deep dish that good anywhere else.

Glad to see that you confirmed what most Nutley folk always say, Ralph's is flat out good pizza. You gotta figure is a town as small as Nutley that has 10 pizza joints and 9 of them deliver and the one that does not deliver dominates the pizza trade it MUST be good.
Scotto's was the best before it closed in 2016
I have been going to Ralph's over 60 years and Pat the 3rd owner does an excellent job with the help of Gus. I remember the original owner Ralph with his marine haircut and the second owner Mike who was one of the nicest and most pleasant person I ever met in the restaurant business. We drive 20 plus miles for a Ralph"s pizza. Now I crave a ralphs pizza.

My favorite pie in my hometown! Went there during elementary school and it was $2.50 for 2 slices and a can of soda... then good old days!

My Ma grew up in Nutley, won't eat pizza anywhere else... still drives 45 mins to pick up 6 pies. Gives me 2 and a chicken wrap - so good

I went here today it is really good pizza I do give it a 8.9-9 the pizza is crispy and the sauce is super good it’s like authentic Italian. The cheese is not greasy either and it’s not that pasteurized type.

Lived around the corner as a kid on Elm pl .Every Friday night we would order Ralphs,The only downside was we had to drink milk with the pizza-No soda allowed in our house, Also used to make boxes for them at age 11 on my way home from school, They would give me a slice and a coke

We're from Nutley. Ralph's is a 3.5. Burnt, almost no sauce, and flavorless cheese. We keep trying it thinking we're missing something. Nope. Not good. Go to Cabrina's in Nutley. Much better!!!!

Although the pizza may look burnt I can assure you from personal experience that is doesn’t taste that way at all and it will be one of the best pizzas you have ever had before

I haven't had it for at least 5 years and only had it once or twice. But this comment is bringing back memories. I think the cheese was kinda burnt. I think I'll go back there soon.

Lived in NYC and Long Island for 20 years - working in Nutley now for 30. Ralph’s is the best. Rays NY Pizza in Verona NJ a close second.

First time I had Ralph's I didn't like it, but a few years later had it alot and was very good.
Same. The first time I had Ralph's I thought it was oddly sweet and wasn't a fan. Went back recently and understood the hype. It's very good.

Ralph's is very good but it seems as if they really pump-in the MSG, which you can discern if you have a discriminating palate. I was there 2 weeks ago, it's very good but not as good as the STAR,in Orange, Santillo's in Elizabeth,, The Reservoir in Boonton, Maruca's in Seaside Heights or Benny Tudino's in Hoboken.

If you are from MA you should check out Pittsfield. South St. Pizza House/Tyler St. Pizza House... They are not the same, South St is a little more crispy and thin, which id say is more you. I don't know if you would like though as they do the party cut and it is a long drive out of your way. There are others too, there's Lanesboro Pizza house different but good and another on Tyler Street Pizza World (closer to Dalton) that I felt had great pie, I like the thicker crust though. Don't get me wrong I know a good slice of thin too, so if you get in the mood to check out Tangleood and the Berkshires on a nice Indian Summer day, consider this your heads up. :)...o

Just finished my pie from ralphs...pizzaland blows the TITS off Ralph's. Ate it twice, disappointed both times
I haven't had Pizzaland since they went under new ownership and raised their prices. Used to be able to walk in and get $1 slice or $8 pie. New owners raised it to like $10 or $11. I'm gonna pick up a pie from there soon though. Star is more expensive and I personally don't think its worth it for me to go out of my way and overpay. I do like it though. There's a place I normally go to that I find better than all those places. I've only been to Ralph's once and it was good but didn't knock my socks off. I did think out of the 3 mentioned it was 1. Star 2. Ralphs 3. Pizzaland. I'm kinda surprised Dave never reviewed Pizzaland because it has the Sopranos fame and not a bad drive from the city either.

Ralph’s has very good pizza for sure. I always buy 2 pies when I go, because one is not enough!
I want to see a blind taste test of Monte’s, Town Spa, Lynwood Cafe and Cape Cod Cafe. Now that would be the ultimate One Bite Showdown, especially how big this has gotten since the old days. Go back to the originals that all are around high eight, low nine and see what he thinks. Remember Montes got the only 10.0 (rookie score!).

Nothing like a thin cheesy and slightly crunchy pizza. Had this pizza a few months ago and loved it, ate a whole pie between my wife and i.

Next time your in Indiana, Arni's pizza near Purdue in West Lafayette....must try. They have locations allover Indiana but the ones in Lafayette or Monticello are hands down the best

Looks damn good. Thin, crunchy crust on the perimeter, with some burn on it. Cheese browned a lot. Tomatoes look tangy.

Since you came to Nutley you should’ve gone to Rocky’s Pizzeria couple blocks from Ralph’s on Franklin Ave. Best pizza in town, way better than Ralph’s.

This is why people in the towns around us call nutley pizza town, we have like 10 pizzerias and they are all amazing. Probably because the population here is 95% italian

This is one place that probably didn’t get any bump from this review, cause they’re already busy as hell! If you grew up in this area, you know Ralph’s! My father grew up in Nutley eating this pizza, and his father before him. The fact nobody from Ralph’s even came outside says it all, they know!
