Bruce’s to Van Staaden’s Downwind - GoPro - 5 min of Fun
This was quite an adventure!
We haven’t been climbing in the ocean at all in plett due to high activity of Great Whites in the area so the longing for some open ocean paddling has been tugging on my show strings for a couple weeks.
With a forecast for a west traveling up the coast I headed to St Francis to join Russell and Carmel Sadler on a paddle I haven’t done before. The course we plotted was across J Bay and made sure was running 2 gps units, one with navigation, something I hand done in a while but worked like a charm.
With a nice following sea we had a beautiful paddle, didn’t run the GoPro much because I was having so much fun but did put the mouth mount in for a couple of min and here so the footage. 5min of fun!
The Epic v14 as always a dream of comfort and speed in the open ocean. Great to get salty and first downwind back in like 4 months. Time for more.
