  • An Officer in the Navy is a leader in the fleet. Your leadership path can take you soaring into the skies as an aviator, beneath the waves on a submarine or many places everywhere in between. Your career path is boundless like the sea. Find out how you can become an Officer today: bit.ly/2S7UQr1
    There are several different paths toward becoming an Officer. You can commission through an Officer School once you have the required higher education or choose to enter through one of the scholarship options available.

    Got drafted in the Navy and treated so badly at boot camp (same with the others), that I said that the less people above me the better. I applied for OCS, made it and got my commission, all within 8 months. I served the required 36 months of active duty and 6 years in the Reserves. That was the end of my naval career. Circa 1950's.

      Hey, buddy! How are you? To become an officer you necessarily need to be a US citizen. Even if you get your Green Card you'll need to wait at least five years to get your citizenship. If you marry an American, this period will be compressed to three years. Anyway, hope I've helped you. Good luck!

I am on a green card but I already filed for citizenship. It all depends on your area of preference like medical or information. There’s a lot of fields for officers to go into so best advice is find your niche and research it then when you’re ready talk to an officer recruiter. Even if you’re 4yrs out from your degree at least you know what you should be shooting for.

    • @americasnavy
      @americasnavy  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey there, thanks for reaching out!
      You may be eligible to enlist if you do not have a GED or High school Diploma, by acquiring a score of 50 on the Armed Forces Qualification TEST/ ASVAB.
      The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple choice test, administered by the United States Military Entrance Processing Command, used to determine qualification for enlistment in the United States Armed Forces. It is often offered to American high school students when they are in the 10th, 11th and 12th grade, though anyone eligible for enlistment may take it.
      If you have any additional questions feel free to speak with a recruiter by completing this form: www.navy.com/contact?interest=joining-the-navy&activity=1288922. The military isn’t supposed to be a career path. Nor is it supposed to offer fringe benefits like free college, free housing, and free health insurance. It’s incredible how much money the military spends on each pair of boots.
    All that needs to end. Eventually, the cost of a soldier needs to be brought down to $30,000 a year; all inclusive. The military isn’t supposed to provide pensions, disability, or a private hospital system. Just a four-year one-page service contract. After that, it’s time to find a job. And remember: it’s a volunteer army, so anyone who signs-up knows that he’s taking a chance. That’s life.
