It makes you look like you have the I. Q. of a potato!!!
Thank you for saving this little fellow. You are a good person.
Honestly a lot of people don’t know this but skunks are very smart. Once it figured out he wasn’t trying to hurt it, it knew to not spray at him. Very smart creatures.
Yup. They're basically just a different kind of cat/possum hybrid and they are cool as fuck. My aunt has rehabbed I think 4 at this point and I have a friend who has one as a pet. With the glands removed obviously for pet purposed. Awesome animals though for sure.
It could tell that he was tryinng to help the water probably helped calm him
My grandma used to have one she rescued it had its stink gland thingy removed tho so it couldn’t spray in the house no more lmao 😂
The offering of water really helped build that trust too
Skunks with their glands removed make amazing pets
I love that there are moments when he, we, and the skunk all are feeling exactly the same thing. cmon! cmon! OHHH!
Yes. Compassion might be the top unifier. Thank you fellow animals.
skunk proly goes liek cmon cmon AHHHHH

totally, there are many feelings are emotions, some more concrete than others, that we anthropomorphize too much and are actually shared by many life beings. You could show this short to a monkey for example and im sure it would react like "OHHH SO CLOSE NOOO" or some shit like that XD
Badass. He understood what was going on. He wasn't sticking around to make friends, but after the water, he felt like bro was trying to help him and trusted him. Way cool.
Watch dominion on TH-cam if you care about animals
Thank you for sharing this! Absolutely precious.
The way the animal started to understand shows they do have real intelligence
We've known skunks are incredibly intelligent... for many decades lol
did it take u till this video to realize animals have intelligence
@@craytearen't they more pointing out that fact for those people who still think animals don't have emotions and thoughts of their own?
Unfortunately some people still don't get it...😢
We are litterally dumber then them 😂 they dont pay any taxes
I love it when animals realize that you are helping them. Its just such an interesting type of socialization across species that never evolved to communicate with each other, but managed to find a common ground anyway
well said
There might be a reason only one species out of millions 'evolved' to have complex language. But keep believing your fairy tales.
@@dirtdiv3rDolphins? Dogs? Whales? To say only humans evolved communication skills is absolutely fundamentally wrong. Is a mating call not advanced communication? I know you personally can’t just holler UGHHH in public and immediately have a willing female ready to get it on 😂😂 seriously have some respect for the things that inhabit this earth since you’re so “intelligent” We are highly intelligent social species but you would die fighting many animals without the aid of weaponry. You would die if you were in a jungle or a desert. We’re special but not gods amongst all beings.

I have never been more invested in a reel in my life.. that was awesome..
That skunk was absolutely beautiful, thank you for being kind to him.
That skunk is gorgeous! Very unique markings!
It’s a spotted skunk. They’re actually alittle bit smaller than stripped skunks and stripped skunks are five times heavier. Spotted skunks will sometimes do a hand stand and bend their butts of their heads to point at a threat instead of the traditional lifting up their tails

Love how the skunk was vibing after some water. Show lil dude was tryna spray nobody but was just hot, tired, and wanted to go home
Compassion for animals is a great reflection of your character.
Skunks are actually hella adorable
Till they spray the nastiest smellin shit of all time on you
Yea until they spray you💀
@@Ryuu-uk sadly 😔
@@Casey_cassyymy dad had one as a pet as a kid. They can take the glands out and they are alot like a cat. My grandfather on my moms side saved a baby fox and nursed it back to health and raised it, it hung around a few years and ended up wandering back into the wild.
@@evandrewmartinez1after you took out its glands? If so that’s really cruel. Taking away an animals only natural form of defense is messed up an any way, whether it’s nails, teeth, etc.
tell your mother she did a great job raising you to be a kind young man. it really shows.
The distinction between compassion and aggression is a universal language
Fun fact: skunks hate the smell of their spray too and will only use it in extreme circumstances. I’ve sat and cuddled a fully intact skunk for two hours at a wildlife show!
That’s cool. My mother had a pet skunk, but it wasn’t intact
Fully intact?
@@bleachigo990fully intact means that it still has its skunk glands or sacs , so they can spray you. Typically pet skunks have it removed so you don’t get sprayed
@@coquigirl0789 ok I picked that part up, Its just “fully intact”is a very weird wording in my opinion. My mind goes to weird places. 🤷♂️ usually I see that wording when people talk about archeological discoveries or something. Not saying it’s incorrect. Just strange.
@bleachigo990 My mind went "Instead of half of one?"
I have not been so immediately invested in a positive outcome in such a long time. You’re a mf-ing hero.
You're an angel. Thank you for making the world a better and more beautiful place to be!
Bro was just trying to skate Fr🦨🛹
He got to the bowl and realized 🦨: OH shit! I forgot my board”
He was like i forgot my board? No biggie..... oh
-sees man- YOU STOLE MY BOARD
Tries to spray him-
Skunk in the first half: you wanna throw hands? Skunk in the second half: we chillin
That is one of the prettiest skunks I've ever seen.
I think it was a female skunk with that pattern.... there other species of skunk not in the usa with a similar pattern as well so idk what that is specifically
Literally just called a spotted skunk. I used to have a book with every animal and fish ever known in the world. Never thought I'd actually see a spotted skunk though.
Right super cool lookin
Spotted Skunk, look them up sometime, they do handstands before they spray 😂
The spotted skunk 🦨 is found in North Carolina.
How beautiful!!
Here in Michigan we have the striped ones.
A little act of kindness we need more people like him 🥰
Humans being patient enough to allow a wild animal to build the trust to accept help is the best thing. He’s about to go tell his skunk friends a story no one will ever believe
Love how Skunk walked away casually without running. It's like hes saying...i ain't gonna spray you homes; I could...but I wont, cos you're alright.
😂
I love the markings on this beautiful little skunk. Thank you for this rescue
this was a beautiful interaction thanks for helping the skunk
Spotted skunks are pretty rare from what I’ve heard!!
Thank you for saving the lil buddy!!!
I've never seen one before- so lovely.
Reminds of one mongoose
Yes they are endangered
@@HumbleAstronautthere are 4 species of spotted skunk and none of them are endangered. Eastern spotted skunk ane pygmy spotted skunk are vulnerable which means they are close to being endangered if we dont so anything to help, but they currently are not endangered
Lol I didnt believe it was a skunk at first we have alot of them where I live and have never seen one like that
That skunk will never forget you. You've made a lifetime friend
Animals recognize when we help. Especially smart ones
Skunk sliding is so cute 🥺🥰
Skunks are so gentle and friendly by nature! They never WANT to hurt or spray, they'd always rather be safe and avoid confrontation. I'm glad you helped this one and showed it that its trust was not misplaced!
Tell that to the one I met one summer in a latrain. I was on the toilet he could've turned and ran lol
Skunks are a vector species for rabies (among other things). Don't approach wild skunks, they are vicious . Most municipalities won't relocate them, they tell you to waste them if they hole up under your shed.

I was WAAAAYYYYYY too invested in that skunk’s safety 😂
Same! I was like "NO!!!"
That skunk has a GORGEOUS fur pattern
Right?! That was the most beautiful skunk I have ever seen!! It makes me wonder if he aas a pet?
@breezepayne1725 different areas have different species of skunks. Those different species can have natural pattern variations.
I will say some states skunks can be pets. Wish all states were like that saying skunks are everywhere, but alas that is not the case maybe one day though.
