  • In this video, I cover in details how I replaced hybrid battery on a 2007 Camry. The procedure should be almost identical on Camry from 2007 to 2011.

    EXCELLENT How-to video, excellent filming with perfect camera angles.
    I was a bit surprised you didn't test car running properly BEFORE reassembling all the covers.
    Also, I think it would be important to comment on all the black piping....since the Hybrid battery actually has it's own fan, the piping is significant as the battery must produce a lot of heat when charging, Toyota has added those additional cooling pipes to direct even cooling of the battery...and maybe warming in cold climates ?
    I point that out because my local Toyota dealer can find nothing wrong, no OBD codes they can find, and I'm not getting any using my OBD adapter transmitting to my phone running Torque Pro.
    But after your video, showing all the cooling pipes, I'm wondering if my dog might be the problem. 🙂 I have a Labradore Retreiver, and they shed A LOT....the grey interior of my Camry Hybrid is covered with black dog hair....and it finds it's way deep into the car, so now I'm wondering if my "Check Hybrid System" error is being triggered by poor cooling of the battery !? 🤔
    I'm finding nothing concrete on-line about common causes of this "Check Hybrid System" vague error, just "maybe this" "maybe that,"...and to their credit, dealer didn't want to jump straight to replace their $4000 battery without evidence that would solve problem....they did some sort if "Reset" though there were no codes to erase, and gave car back saying bring it back if it happens again. It ran fine for 3 weeks, now error is back and car will not start...dead in driveway. Does disconnecting and reconnecting batteries "reset" Hybrid system ? 🤔

      Thanks for watching and for making very good points. The reason I decided not to test the battery before putting everything back together was because I was confident in the battery and it did not take that much time to put covers back on. As far as issues you are having, it is tough to say, but if there is a lot of dust in those pipes, it could cause batteries to overheat. I guess if your battery giving you problems right at start, then it is probably not an overheating issue. With that been said, I think you can clean all the pipes in less than an hour, so you could try to do that and see if it will solve your issues before replacing the actual battery. Not sure what kind of "reset" it does if you just unplug and plug back the disconnect plug.

      Did you try replacing the 12 volt battery, it’s being drained by the system that’s why the car drives sometimes, I would get a new 12 volt battery, or take your battery to get charged, or buy a 1 amp slow charger and a multimeter and let the slow charger sit on the battery until it’s actually charged back to 12 volts not when the box says it’s complete, but when the multimeter reads 12 volts could take a few days, then put it back in and see if the car turns on and goes into ready. Or just jump the 12 volt if it’s not too discharged the car should come on.

      And yes it can reset it, but you need a good 12 volt aux battery first with power.

    That was very well explained. I wish I would have seen this before having the dealer work on my car 4500.00 dollars to put new battery..
    But how long did it take to do all this.

      That vehicle is still used daily. I am not the owner of the vehicle, but last time I checked with the owner, I was told that battery is still great with very good mpg. The owner of the vehicle will inform me right away if there would be any issues with the battery.

      Yeah, they've been great! Customer service is exceptional. My car broke on the way from there and their employee helped me tremendously! Vehicle is not mine but owner of the vehicle is still very happy with the battery and still gets better mileage per gallon

    Would it be similar to a 2012-2017 or a 2018-2024 Camry battery replacement?

    • @PZPal
      @PZPal  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It should be very similar, almost identical.

    bro, i have a question, if you want to replace the tranmission of a hybrid camry you need to do something whit the hybrid system? like, disconect

    • @PZPal
      @PZPal  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I never done it, but I’d say just pull the plug on hybrid battery. It will take just a minute and give you peace of mind.

      Warranty for new ones are 4 years. I heard they should last 5-7 years, but tough to say.

    Hey man, I have a 2007 Toyota Camry hybrid after I replace the battery and put the orange safe and I went to the car to start it up but it didn’t. It shows lights on but not on and I make sure the orange key is on. It’s in the proper place, so any idea?

    • @PZPal
      @PZPal  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’d say double check the orange plug. Initially mine did not sit correctly and I had same problem starting.

    That looked as easy as changing a radiator. Theres no programming or anything? I dont know anything about hybrid systems, charging, electric motors etc. Theres a 2008 available for sale near me for $2k with a dead battery. Was hoping you could just drive it without the battery but i guess not

      Sorry, I never replaced individual cells so I have no idea to how to even troubleshoot it. Next time I’ll deal with similar problem, I’ll probably replace only bad cells to get more experience in that field.
