As the resident former Smite player on the Pred dev team and a fan of your content, it warms my heart to see these videos.
- It totally makes sense that you're balling in mid, since it's the most mechanical role when it comes to landing abilities and your Smite background is translating super hard
- No downside to detonating Howi mine early
- The rocket is your bread and butter ability, and has a 25% longer range than ranged autos so you can poke really easily
- River buffs spawn every odd minute, starting at 3:00 (then 5, 7, 9, etc.)
- If you bounce mine yourself correctly, you can hop over gadget's gate
- If you want to ult constantly as a midlaner, Astral Catalyst has a bunch of ability haste and magic power plus it refunds 1/5 of your ult cooldown per kill/assist. Not meta because technically you're losing damage on other abilities relative to the core items but if you want to ult twice in a teamfight that's the way to do it.

Looking forward to seeing more game modes and an expanded cast! Also just some input from a new player, even though I came from smite, onboarding is a bit daunting. There’s not a whole lot of explanation on roles, jungle camps, or damage types. Been having a lot of fun regardless though

I haven’t touched smite in a month because of this game , the inclusion of verticality just feels so refreshing. I don’t think smite 2 will pull me away from this game either.

Attack speed Howitzer is a meme-y thing, but I have fun with it. There are two magical items and a neutral item that has just attack speed if you want to put then on him.
First, there is a “Starter” called Typhoon that give you attack speed as you hit, after four hits, you can do a baby blink with like a 20 second cooldown.
Prophecy: basically Telkhine’s Ring, but 30% of power, not a flat number.
Magnify: auto a few time and your next ability hits harder.
Both items give a lot of attack speed, and you can build them on Twinblast and Wraith.
Now this is a loyal fanbase !

I loved the part where mast's howitzer oils up and dances to crazy frog along with the enemy narbash
yeah howitzer is in a weird spot with dive i feel, like on one hand he has just enough cc and solid enough damage to stay safe from characters that arent good at diving, but against real solid dive characters like feng mao or rampage he's really vulnerable
Few more tips with Howie:
If you jump and hold your Q (get it off instacast to quick) you can hover in air while aiming for a hot second. You dont have to jump, if you knock yourself up with your mine you can do the same thing, especially after your ult when you're falling down.
Howie has almost as much outplay potential as Gideon.
Usually in Predecessor instacast is trash unless you are aim god.
Your mine has two instances: one tap you land it, second tap you explode it, this is very important in self peel and creating distance between you and the enemy, or pulling enemy closer with it.
Tip number 2! Your passive on howitzer makes an auto or missle occasionally have big aoe. Tho your autos have a small aoe built in. He is the only ranged attacker with aoe autos (kinda like sylvanus)

Howtizer is giving me Ruckus from Paladins vibes, being a little goober in a giant mech suit. Except instead of being a weird tank that does ok damage Howitzer just blows shit up and rains death from the skies. Definitely gotta play him when I try Pred!

Howi adc actually worked really well in the original game, you could build attack speed with a little cooldown and spam aa cancels.
@mast, it does not do anything bad detonating the bomb early! The delay is mostly for minions and the early detonate is for some big brain plays for popping people up or popping yourself up to get away from danger! Highly recommend to use the bomb defensively
Wow this is perfect timing I just tried Howitzer after playing Gid and Rev only in mid and I felt like my ult didn’t do much. Can’t wait to see this 😂

That's funny, I haven't seen gadget much either considering she was in pretty much every game in the Overprime version with a howitzer or Gideon. I do really want to try the fey and wraith mid in pred kuz they could be super sleeper OP if done right and I wonder if it's the same in pred. I haven't played any mid yet though
Mid lane wave pressure wins games. Fast clearing as a semi safe character like howie from ganks is a must most of the time. Your rotations are really strong as you can boob and get out of situations while having high kill potential. So in short wave fast clearing is a must early

Mine should be held onto early unless pushing the opposing midlane out of position for a kill. Or setting a wave and trying to clear as fast as possible looked pretty good there be sure to use the slow mines in closed walkways to help peel for the team. Keep it up brother.👍

I have really enjoyed playing the fey. Just buul oculust crest and level the 'E'. You get so much poke in lane and get insane damage if you hit a couple in a row. Lategame go max ability haste and stomp with ur ult combo.

What are you referring to when you say right click? I don't see anything bound to it when you pull up the ability screen
Even tho hes bottom tier on most lists ive seen please play revenant he shoots slow and has to reload every 4 shots but his passive makes his crits do 170% and you can one shot late

His ult is actually useful now. In paragon it was only good for clearing waves
took three games for me to win with Howitzer.
1st Game: A total JG Diff. I wasn't even doing horrible on my first game on him in the mid lane and was out trading my opponent but they had a Shinbi JG who just kept ganking me and our left lane which was the duo lane. It was awful and our JG was doing jack all throughout the match. Man was still farming pretty much all the time and didn't even gank mid or left at all yet Shinbi was there half the match killing us.
2nd Game: Faced off against a Kirai which was annoying since she gets to just hold left click and dodge roll my rockets while I am moving slow as a Khameria runs and jumps on me. JG was better that game but would annoyingly ping the whole match for objectives that were already halfway taken by the enemy team because there are no wards there to see what's happening. Our solo and carry teammates were also useless that match with Murdock just watching the team fight at some points instead of helping us.
3rd Game: Finally a fair fight against a fae and I get a jungler who ganks properly. We won that one through the fact the enemy team just decided to roam the map as five and just ignored our carry split pushing all the way to their core. They killed us in one last team because they were picking us off one by one as 5 people but it costed them the game because our minions decimated their core.
Also to add on, I found that Mana, Ability Haste, and Health are my go to on this guy. As well as grabbing one Magical Power attack speed item that enhances his autos just because you are right that hits autos just feel nice and impactful. Auto Q Auto just hurts em. Like with how big he is I feel like I need to have some kind of defense to being a big target when ulting so I buy health. He really feels like he could work in the offlane as a magic tank or carry as an attack speed burst mage.
I hope this game gets out of early access in a year or two.

Yes, Howie can play ADC. Is it good? No. But before Wraith and Grim.exe were in the game, Howie was pretty much all we had, so it did see some play.
There are items in the game for magic scaling ADCs, but they don't do nearly as much for your basics as regular carry items.

Im so happy they gave love to howitzer from Paragon to Predecessor, changing his ult being a single target nuke instead of a AOE barrage has made this hero so much better and more fun!

why are half of the heroes in this just big guy mech suit?
One that that triggers me in pred over smite is most supports pocket the ADC even if they aren't active or helping the team at all instead of rotating more or protecting who is really carrying the game

With howitzer specifically put your Q ability on quick cast, this allows u the option to hold the Q key to aim your rocket. When aiming howitzers Q you will stay stationary which may seem pretty bad but u can do it in the air to buy yourself some extra air time after a self boop or ur ulti or even just jumping off a ledge, it allows for some insane outplay potential

Yeah mast you can play him adc (APC) I am in plat only playing howitzer adc and mid I started playing the game a couple days after the open beta release.

Tip of the day! Until 8 min tower has some mad damage reduction! Also while in the circle of the tower if it goes down you get bonus gold split to all players in the towers circle.

Decker mid pt 3
Howitzer can work in the carry role, I've done it before only once though, but we did end up winning. I just built a bit of attack speed and power, and it's alright.
At 15:10 she has shield because she got the river buff, and it happened to be the green one. Which gives you shield and mana.(they all give you something+mana)
My Howi build is combustion megacasm tainted scepter caustica oblivion crown. Sometimes wraith leggings or time warp depending if they don't have heals or if I need cooldown bad.
Idk what gadgets ult is, as you walk through it for the 3rd time😂 watching mast learn pred has been a really entertaining experience. Also, idk if your still using in game currenct or decided to pay some money, but the fey is a damage/cc monster.
I'm liking this game a lot but man is the matchmaking pure dogshit. Feels bad having a 20+ kill game and having it wiped by teammates who have clearly never played a MOBA

Howi is all about mastering the bounce mine and holding ult for some escape or team cluster.

Howi mine is his peel and movement. It boops outward from center, making your space from chasers, you forward them back. Also can get back up from river. Tech: throw mine into river off the left ledge looking at river buff, jump into river and q buff, explode mine to return back to mid lane without touching water

The Obelisk Crest is really good on him, you can stack it for extra dmg and when you activate it it buffs your next auto like Poli from Smite. The biggest thing is getting good with using and knowing when to use your mine, its your only self peel but it can be very effective. Loving the Pred content, I am just starting to dive deep into it myself.
You should try building Belica like an ADC with attack speed lifestyle crit. It feels so good imo. And you just spam bomb when you get the cdr to like 3s. I like to run it in the solo lane and beat up on warrior types by keeping range on them.
Love the pred vids so far! Not sure if you already know, but river buff always spawns on the odd minute marks starting from 3 so u can be sure when they’re up and not guess

Howitzer is by far my least favorite character to play against. That ult is like Marti ult, but 10x more cringe. I honestly don't mind most characters, but Howitser ult and Gideon portal make them the only two characters i actively despise fighting.
