I feel like the Liberal MPs are so delusional. When Trudeau came to power, I was 18. I was tired of the way the world was. In hindsight, the change was terrible. I figured JT was going to be a great, young option.
However, you made a conservative out of me. I will never bat another eye at the Liberal party. Justin does not know what Canadians want.
You talk about Climate change. I live in Northern BC. I have been surrounded by forest fires for the last few years. Would you like to know what the liberals have done... Not a fucking thing. We have had more support from local vac truck/tanker companies, and volunteers.
You charge BC residents carbon tax, and we receive $0 back.
We are on the brink of WW3, and civil unrest. I think it's time Justin. If you love Canadians, call an election. If Canada loves you, you'll be back.

It wasn't a broken promise so let's not use that trope. The majority of Canadians are not interested in it. We do not want unqualified candidates getting into our government, and what I mean by unqualified is anyone whose personal interests are in conflict with the oath to serve. The majority of Canadians want to get back to our good governance where all parties elected serve the mandate of the lead party.

At the 1:52 mark Trudeau says “if we don’t make space for real conversations, then ……” right there is his flaw….he doesn’t connect verbally with Canadians at all. He ignores his own country. He doesn’t listen to what Canadians are really saying, he doesn’t show empathy, he doesn’t have any real conversations, he doesn’t answer any questions over 9 years but only grabs women’s phones to prop himself for a photo shoot with them and then smugly smiles at everyone with a hand wave and then he wonders why his ratings are dropping. He’s not in touch or in tune with Canadians across the board. He’s arrogant, narcissistic, condescending and all about himself only. And not only that, he the ethically violated many rules of law, embezzled millions of dollars from Canadians, has zero understanding of maths to run a country properly, obsessed with the climate change mantra ….but just wants to be the kid running the show. Pathetic excuse of a leader!

I appreciate the long form conversation that Trudeau has often avoided. I would like to see him with someone other than a liberal MP. I enjoyed the opinions and discussions.
After listening I am of the belief that both these gentlemen need to be voted out. They are disconnected from anything outside of their political views. I am not a believer in their policy or decisions on climate change, the economy. And most of all I do not believe they act in the interest of Canadians. They act in the interests in people who share their worldview. And they discredit anyone who disagrees with them. I do not believe we can trust them with our money. And this interview comes across as entitled and elitist. They appear to be talking down to Canadians.
I am not a supporter of Pierre or the conservatives but I do see how their messaging is leading to a surge in the polls.

The power prices were getting out of control. Ontario is spending $6 billion a year just to offset the price of energy. Wind and solar dont really make much sense in Ontario. Peak wind production happens at the same time that you have peak hydro production and then you pay high prices for wind power when the hydro is basically free.

Another home run interview. Well done! I especially like that you don't shy away from the difficult questions. I will say that even with an hour of discussion, I still come away thinking, "I would have liked to hear more on x topic (like climate change plan next steps and how to make meaningful inroads in making housing affordable), but that could be that there's just so much to cover. I look forward to your future podcasts; they're always fascinating and informative.

JT & the Libs need to come out & say that they were NOT against Electoral Reform.....
& explain this to Canadians like JT said in this video.

OMG what a liar. If he wanted electoral reform, he would have implemented it. Instead he forced his cabinet to vote no on a recent motion for a citizens' assembly on electoral reform.

The piece on electoral reform is the height of hubris on Trudeau's part. After all these years, he STILL doesn't understand the basic features of PR -- it's like he has an allergic reaction to hearing the word "proportional" and some part of his brain shuts down. The only thing that rings true is that the failure to enact electoral reform is Trudeau's single greatest failure while PM. Sadly, this will be his legacy: a failure to strengthen Canada's democratic institutions at a time when we needed him to act.
He trots out the same tired BS that has been debunked repeatedly on polarization and fringe voices. STV (aka Proportional Ranked Choice Voting) and Open List PR both meet his criteria: strong local representation and MPs who are beholden to their constituents, rather than their party. (True, to form, he talks over Nate when Nate tries to explain open lists). Hard to listen to, when we are now going to see the Liberals wiped out by a sloganeering eejit. Such a wasted opportunity -- one that will cost our country dearly.
Thanks for trying so hard, Nate.
