Top notch content, Clear and to the point video... As you rightly mentioned, 5 minutes of the designer’s time sums up their vast experience collected over the years... People always think why the Doctor charges 1000₹ for a 10 minute appointment..what they fail to understand is its their lifetime of investment in education, time, money and experience which makes them capable of where they are... We should respect a professional and their expertise and not consider everything a DIY...
Perfect Video for any Designer to Take off in their Field...... This 30 minutes video is worth of an Academic Standard Lecture...... Greatly Impressed !!!
Dear Nihara Ma'am, this video was very informative but more to a designer rather than from a client's perspective...even after watching the full video I was unable to decide on the total budget I should keep for interior designing....even if I agree to the 'per square feet' thing its range may vary hugely...as clients we need to get a justification of the amount we spend
Good content no doubt... As a client i got lots of clarity on the subject matter specially how much should i pay designer without any regreats and how much ID deserve based on her skill set/ experience.... Invaluable content.❤❤❤.
Hi Nihara all your videos are very helpful. I am not an architect or a designer. I am into interior contracting. By seeing videos I not only get good ideas but also I get motivated. You are doing a great job. Keep it up. Good Bless you.
Thanks, ma'am you are doing a great job by sharing informative and useful knowledge to the community. thank you very much in the age of cut-throat competition you are sharing your experience.
I hope people understand that for all professionals such as doctor, engineer, lawyer, etc. Such people invest years of hard work and then acquire knowledge.
Thanks, ma'am you are doing a great job. giving it to the community. thank you very much in the age of cut-throat competition you are sharing your experience. it takes a lot of courage. hats off to you.
Snugverse is always my preferred interior absolutely know what they're doing and always deliver amazing homes that just feel and look cozy, and are very practical too.
Nihara ji ..Jo mushkilen aapne face ki, vo koi aur na karey , isliye aap guidance karte ho, Likes ke sath-sath dher saare Nekiyaan bhi kamaa raheho... No words to say thank you ..👍 God bless you 🌼
The hourly rate works best because u are doing it by effort basis. Thats most industries best practice. Having it charged by project cost % is simply incorrect. I would disagree that if u lay a tile worth 150 psqft vs 500 psqft the customer should not pay additional to the designer because they wanted better tiles. The skilled labour would do it anyway and that finishing & quality is the responsibility of execution & what gets u more business later. Hence most customers who opt for this since it end up in arguments and fights feeling cheated. Charging by carpet area is also not practical but can be considered as eventually the designer amount is fixed and doesn’t vary. This gives more flexibility to both sides. However there is room for negotiation when lets say ur carpet area of 1500 sqft has a balcony of 300 sqft and assuming which needs no work at all then it should be excluded from carpet area. Basically the charges should be based on hours invested in getting a carpet area done. It should not be fixed for the entire house but by section and hours. That works out best.
Liked it, still wud like to add, u r going great but had the rates in general been shared, that wud hv given much more clarity.Though, u shared, thoda cut to cut aur banana chahiye, avoid generic explanations, but yes sometimes it is required to keep the flow and audience connected. Looking for more.

hi Mrs.Nihara ji..its really great info video...now i had clear info about charging fees..thank you so much..May Allah bless you...and regarding about workshop support " Join "
So good. Please do a video on the topic that how to deal with initial clients as a new interior designer.Should we give them 3 to 4 plans without any cost to choose for getting the client.Or should we charge them on this whether they choose to get work from us or not. And does per square feet include materials and labour everything.
Whoa, such an informative video! Thank you for all the efforts you put in for our profession and it's awareness. And yes, would love to join in! Long way to go💛
Pls start education videos, ur doing gr8 job for all students or the designers like me who wants to comeback in this field after a long gap 👍🏻Thank you 😊
“How” you charge is as important as “what” you charge. Any professional is usually monitored by a body of peers belonging to the same profession. The nature of monitoring is often only regulatory. But one comes to know how much he/she should charge and in what fashion by interacting with his/her peers in that regulatory body. It acts as a benchmark against which one can fix his/her own fees. Next comes the market. How much you charge really depends on the amount that your clientele actually pay. It will be different for varying clientele. Only the elite professionals can lay back and say that I won’t work if I do not get paid according to my desire. The bottom-line is that your fees get manipulated by what others are charging for a similar job as well as where/ with what kind of client you are working.
Explanation skills are great but it would be great if you use PowerPoint or a blackboard, visuals will help listeners to understand quickly. That's just an opinion for improvement :)
Good explanation, but should have made short, anyways good. I have one doubt. What is carpet area? Is that just means floor? Or design of surrounding walls etc? Because I have a 100 sft plan with all walls and secret chambers underfloor, which came around 1200 sft. Carpet area is 100 only I guess. So do you charge only for floor design of 100feet?
Very helpful video.....but how to deal with relatives ,as they want to get the design done free of cost ...if possible kindly make a video on this topic ......thank you
As far as i understand interior designer spend lot of money to make any house beautiful, Designer is best who spend less money and make house beautiful and durable.
Hi Nihara. I want to know that if I put a pendant light at the dining area centre, so should I put a wall mounted fan. Will it look good or is it a no no. Thanks.
