  • "Sonder - noun. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own."
Welcome to "The Sonder Series," where I interview random people on the street with random life questions. The goal of this series is to uncover people's stories & to create time capsule of daily life in this era.
When I film these videos I imagine watching them fifty or one-hundred years in the future and seeing how much has changed. How have our clothes changed? How has our speaking style changed? What is happening in the world?
I hope you enjoy this series, please be kind in the comments as the people participating in these videos are likely to read them.

Hi friends! My soul has been craving making relatable, authentic videos lately so I’m starting a new series where I interview people on the streets and ask them real questions. Today’s video is a bit of a rough draft but I’ve already filmed episode 2 where I interview four people and I can’t wait to show it to you! Hope you like this series❤️

It's so weird watching this right now, as I'm visiting the US (NYC) and am originally from Izmir. Sometimes it feels like two different worlds, but I think in the core people are still people. I do love and miss Alsancak and Kordon and the fresh Ege breeze and especially the food culture there.
That being said, i totally cringed at what the old lady was doing, trying to convince you to stay by saying that you'll find a rich Turkish man, telling you to leave your bf, not cool 😑 this exact thing happened to me while I was visiting Antalya with my ex in the past... also, some guy just randomly taking photos is not okay either.
Sorry for all that on behalf of Turkish people. I'm happy you can still see through such things. I think Turkey in general needs better education (both at home and school) on inidivual privacy and rights. The shoe culture is so huge in the US, I can understand why you got upset! Hope you managed to fix your shoe or find a new pair!
PS: Very impressed by how much well your Turkish has become! Kudos on that 👏👏

You got the Dr. Martens vegan shoes right? 😅 I had them as well, they did exactly the same thing, the soles just got seperated! And it happened right when I was visiting İzmir! haha
They are not quite waterproof anyway...
So I ended up getting quechua's vegan boots from Decathlon, it's been years and they are waterproof and everything! Not the best looking ones... but if you want performance and durability then that's the only vegan thing I could find 💞✨

I actually show my reaction to it if I notice it..they can actually be reported for that..if he had done that to me, I would have literally reported him or just say: o resimleri hemen sil, yoksa seni police şikayet edicem. ✌️💯 But, he must have felt more comfortable realizing that you're a foreigner. While I was sitting at an LGBT cafe ("Defne") in a narrow street nearby Kordon, an older guy sat behind me and started looking at me disturbingly. A gay man, I ignored and continued drinking the wine. But after I left the cafe to go to the seaside, he turned out to have followed me and stopped me to introduce himself and wanted to get to know me. I rejected him but he insisted only to be rejected again and got lost. Some guys tend to be overinsistent buy thankfully so far no problem.
