Hey Thomas, are you sure about the engine with Q8? You call it 3-liter, but tail side says 5.0 TDI.
Autogefühl which one is more roomy inside ? I need to buy an SUV and money is not a problem. Not sure what to get. Torn between GLC amg 63s 4matic+ , M x5 , Cayenne turbo. Just not sure if the Cayenne is worthy 60k more than the others fully loaded
clearly the audi q8 couldnt have one it was only in it for 45minutes vs an hour for all the other cars

Best looking: difficult but the X5 wins for a bit.
Conclusion: The 4 are excellent and beautiful cars but the X5 stands out for a tiny bit among the rest.

Cayenne for me. Imo the merc looks crap, Audi and BMW look good too. But if you look at handeling and sound, look no further than the cayenne.
The Mercedes interiors looks like they're still under construction.
That fake vent area bugs me.
They have an unfinished look to them.

Thanks for the great review, Thomas! What would you say if include in this comparison a GLE 53? Could it be more close to Cayenne from a sport behavior perspective? My favorites are Cayenne, RR Sport (P400 engine), and GLE. But I'm not sure about the GLE version.

I've just traded in the 2014 Mercedes GLE 350 on a 2019 Porsche Cayenne S. Drove the new GLE and the new X5 but after driving the Cayenne I was completely sold! In my opinion the Porsche dusts both of them in so many areas. Interior is quiet as a church mouse and the ride and handling plus acceleration make the Cayenne feel much smaller than it is! Cost is prohibitive in some cases because you need to add air suspension to get rear wheel steering which is very much worth the cost i think and the extras also add up quickly! Also highly recommend the Burmester sound system in addition it is the best I've heard in a car!! But extremely happy with car so far!

Great review, i went with the 2021 cayenne
In the UK, only the Porsche has an almost totally flexible list of options. For instance, for the hybrid Q8 and GLE, you can have seats in any colour you like as long as it's black.
In the Mercedes portion of your comparison review, you mentioned that Mercedes is coming out with a "plug-in Hybrid" model. Do you have any information on which Mercedes model will be the plug-in hybrid, ie.. GLE 450 or GLE 580 for instance, and what year they plan to come to market with it? Very interested! Also, if you know any specs that are expected, ie... HP & Torque numbers. Thank you! All your reviews are fantastic!!

@@simon_m3 glad you like them. I wound up going with the Q8 and I’m very happy with my decision. The main reason was the options. I got everything I wanted on the Audi, and almost as importantly, nothing I didn’t want. When I was looking there were very few GLE’s with sunroofs. Some production problems they claimed. And the ones that were available either didn’t have options I wanted, or had a bunch I didn’t want/want to pay for like self parking, HUD, wrong wheels, etc. Everything was an option, and it seemed to nickel and dime me 15k past what I wanted to spend. So I wound up buying the Q8 right off a local lot and it’s loaded. Plus, Audi gave me 1k more for my trade in, which was a ML350. Cheers.

I really enjoyed this comparison. Looking to buy the GLE. Only thing I didn't see was a compass on the dashboard, I use alot for detours and unfamiliar areas. I don't use GPS yet.

A fantastic review, I tend to get a bit brainwashed towards B.M.W.`S The Mercedes GLE Wow so much more than the B.M.W. X5 With the air suspension and the comforts inside, with the controls the German engineering is a must-have.

In my opinion
Bmw has nailed their X5 this time，（maybe）the best interior building quality and timeless looking exterior.
Merc also makes a big step forward on thier gle but overall I think it is still a little bit inferior compared to the X5，but people could prefer the design language of merc‘s interior
Porsche is Porsche
Audi is the most fancy looking suv（idk but the interior of Audi seems cheap to me after consistently seeing their 3 screens.）
Interesting view. I was sitting in all of them and the interior of Audi is quality wise by far better than the others

EU Go from a lot of review and research I found that the material used in Audi and bmw are equally well. These two are definitely better than merc. I am just saying those screens are bit too much to me. Check out some new Japanese cars and Chinese cars. The screens wave is coming ；D
jj d yeah soon the a1 and q3 get the Audi screens layout，so this is the trend.
@@zihaoye2433 yes the screens are unsafe but i think this is not a problem for me because audi have virtual cockpit in gauge cluster and you have voice comands. Including merc and bmw.

Driven BMW X5 45e, Audi Q8, Mercedes GLE 450. For me BMW x5 45e super SUV for all points.
I'm leaning that way too considering the price in my country. What's your take on the Cayenne though?

For now I would choose a Porsche, it makes more sense to me as a South African. The fuel price is now at an unacceptable rate. E hybrid. When BMW releases its hybrid I will choose the BMW as it has more range.

Yes, I have seen PHEV rewiev in Yor channel. And yes, it is available in my country, But I am afraid of additonal 300kg weight an how it will affect drveability.
Hm not really, it depends on if tax benefits make sense for you and if you do have the possibility of recharging at home or at work
Unfortunately there is no tax benefits in my country. Charging at night would be possible. But why you would not choose deasel? Because of future ecological restrictions to use diesel cars or driving characteristics e.c. - sound in cabin, vibrations , lack of power?
The diesel is wonderful especially if you tow.

Doesn’t the Q8 have any annoying acceleration delay? I know from personal experience that is very noticeable in the Touareg (almost dangerous in roundabouts). Some people say some Audi models have it as well, I don’t know. Is it due to emissions regulations, or do they program the delay on purpose?

This might not be relevant but I had a 2012 X5 diesel but now drive a 2016 Cayenne diesel. The X5 was turning into a money pit at 75K miles had a relatively rough ride but didn’t have the sport or comfort mode so I’m assuming the ride set was a compromise. The Cayenne has the air suspension and rides car like in comfort mode but is a blast in the sport modes. The Cayenne is so quiet and comfortable you forget your driving a sport SUV until you step on the gas and hit the twisties. The Cayenne fit and finish is much better on the Cayenne too. The X5 seats were not very supportive for a sport SUV where as the Porsche seats cradle, giving that one-with-the-vehicle feeling. I could go on and on but as you can probably tell, I enjoy my Cayenne much more than I ever did the X5. Another thing. The Cayenne has paddle shifters where the X5 did not. Another plus for spirited driving.
I know that everyone looks for different things in a SUV but if you like great looks, handling, engine performance, comfort, quality build, reliability, test drive a Cayenne before making your choice. I like to call myself a car guy so I don’t recommend a car just because I own it. I really have to like the vehicle. I drive the Cayenne every chance I get with a smile on my face.
