I just finished it. My heart dropped... I couldn't even process it. They set up this wholesome moment between "father and son" so to speak, after all they've been through together. Oz wouldn't even be alive without Vic intervening, and he kills him?? Weakness is a cop out. That was foul. Brilliant show 💯
From my standpoint, it's such a waste of resources. Oz killed Vic because Vic saw Oz for the messy human being he is? I get it, but Vic's worth as a lieutenant is far more worthwhile than any sort of weakness. Oz is going to be missing Vic when Gotham chews him up and spits him out. Be you rich or poor, Gotham will always screw you over.

You don’t consider it WOKE that they change the penguin from an Englishmen to an Italian mobster in order to make him more gangster. Anytime you change the race of a character, there is a weird agenda. However, since you enjoyed the show so much all of quote on quote “weird agendas” go out the window. It’s still there if you stop being a fan and look at the facts.

I hear they're in the process of making Barry Keogans take on the Joker. Which I'd rather have because that 5 min clip that was kept out of the movie was epic
Yo I expected Vic to be a casualty of war. Either Sofia kills him or Oz having to leave him for dead. I didn’t expect it to be after the war. It was the shock, regret, struggle and betrayal on his face…….that sold to scene for me😢
Oz/The Penguin is a piece of ####. Plain & simple. Fascinating villain & perhaps my favorite onscreen version of the villain, but wow. Batman needs to take him down! Great show, but I don't wantt a season 2. Let this lead into The Batman: Part II. And I really hope Colin Farrell & Cristin Milioti get some awards.
Yeah this was the episode that made it certain yes oz is a very very bad person. A liar, a murderer, a manipulator, a coward, spineless 😭. Hes a very bad guy , likeable still but very bad
This show was so perfect to me man what a great show. I definitely called the way Victor might’ve died and the scene still made me sad the whole time. Oz is straight up Evil man😂 I can’t wait for Batman to beat his ass at this point I’m so glad they made sure to make it as clear as possible the whole show that this man is a VILLAIN
Yeah this was an awesome show and I had my doubts about it but it was really good. The Batman universe is already shaping up to be good and I just hope they keep up the momentum. Also I really like Victor because he was the saving grace to Oswald but it kind of sucks that he got killed. The only way I can see him coming back is if they go back to that moment at the park and it was nothing but just a hallucination or something like that that Oz wanted to do the Victor but just couldn't find himself to do it
I think they made Penguin *too* evil honestly. He's more outright Malicious than any other villain even *could* be in the Matt Reeves universe. Riddler was a Monster but he was driven mad by lonliness and being an Orphan. The Joker's just naturally 100% purely insane so he has a natural excuse. If Mr Freeze is the main antagonist of The Batman 2 as rumored he's literally THE Tragic Villain of all tragic villains. The only villain who can be as malicious as Penguin in this universe could MAYBE be The Scarecrow. For like the B++ Villain that is The Penguin I don't think they should've made him THIS dark.
I somewhat agree. Only because the joker is like the craziest of the crazy. So if Oz is this twisted it kinda makes it hard to fear the joker more when you know Oz will kill you just as fast as joker would. Jokers whole thing is being scarier than the others and I don’t see how he could be that way
@@vbar964 exactly that's my point! even with this show in terms of popularity Penguin's still a B++ Player compared to other villains. so if even *he's* this dark and dangerous and fucked up what are the others gonna be like? now that WOULD be interesting and intriguing... if it wasn't for the fact we know there's gonna be a ton of live action mandates and stuff. so we KNOW they aren't gonna let the shows and pictures get any much darker than this so we KNOW they aren't gonna adapt any of the craziest most brutal feats imaginable that characters like Joker have done. (carving his smile into Newborn Babies to ensure his legacy or blowing up a nursery just to make the worst kind of Baby Shower Joke for example is 1000% most *definitely* off the table here I'd be willing to bet every cent I've never had.)
Crazy episode. Victor was a cool dude and it was a holy shit moment. Me and my girl both said the last scene was very Norman Bates, dude has some major issues in this universe. This show smokes most comic book shows/adaptions and I'm saying that as a dude who thinks The Batman was great, but not a "masterpiece".
Masterpiece. This was more enjoyable than most Batman movies apart from Batman Begins, The Dark Knight or The Batman for me. It was spectacular and extremely enjoyable.
I feel like the penguin killed Victor because of his obsession with being like Rex and pleasing his mom. Since she had her son get set up to get killed by Rex, Oz finding that out probably made him want to get rid of Victor
What this show does effectively is show us that we shouldn’t trust Oz at all. Every character he involves himself with gives us a reason to hate Oz but the show makes us root for him. From episode 1 to this episode we see a villain, that makes watching it again as appealing as watching the First batman movie again. Victors death hurt so much because even someone who would die for Oz doesn’t make the cut. He loves his mother and more importantly himself more than anyone else. The Penguin show gets a 9/10 from me.
I really didn't have any expectations whatsoever watching this show, but it really blew my mind. I never imagined I would like it so much, even though I liked Mat Reeves The Batman very much. Great, complex, believable characters, subverting expectations at its best. I mostly rooted for Sofia given what she had been through unfairly. Penguin is such a scumbag, but his decisions make sense from his frame of reference thanks to the very realistic writing and portrayal of his character, psychopathy and all.
The show was great I enjoyed it a lot But Colin farrel kinda took the stakes away for the penguin in an interview a few weeks ago. When he said he's in atleast 5/6 scenes in the batman 2 and that he's signed on for 3 batman films. So we know he wasn't gonna die. And as far as I know they haven't even confirmed a third batman movie yet so he spilled the beans there a bit.
The theory people is saying is that he became really close to Vic and that would eventually become a weakness to use against him like his mom so he had to take him out
Bro they literally say it in the show right after Vic calls him family. Vic saw him at his weakest and they’ve been through everything together now, but keeping Vic alive would mean he’d have another weakness that people could take advantage of in the future kinda like how they took his mother to torture him and all that. So killing Vic was out of love(not a good thing either way) so nobody could have that weakness to take advantage of him at the top
