Excellent video! “Ballin on a Budget!” I love your phrase! That’s me too! I’m gonna try Butcherbox once or twice because I have an offer on my American Express card for cash back if I try it twice. Thank you for this very informative TH-cam video!
Agree with the affordability aspect. I'm on a budget too and I only get the grass Fed grass finished items when they are marked down for sale at my local stores....thankfully I know when and how often my stores do the sale and mark downs so it hasn't been too hard finding those great deals....but even with a discount of $20 off at what like 6 or 7 pounds of meat in butcher box it's way too expensive...that comes out to roughly $11 per pound 😳 Not worth it....now if I was single with no extra mouths to feed and made $30 per hour from my job then I would consider ordering a few times per year. Sadly I think it's the "upper well to do income class" that will benefit most from butcher box.
It's only cheaper at Walmart because you're not getting top of the line food but the price $79 matching to $65 you mentioned in Walmart look at how much better quality you're getting just for a few more dollars got to think about that I don't buy no meat at Walmart ever I'd rather be a vegetarian.
I think it's convenient to have it delivered. The prices did go up during covid. I had one box that was thawing but it was during our summer heat wave. I'm sorry you had issues. If you're a smart shopper, you can shop the grocery store adds and save a lot of money.
The convenience is amazing lol I'm glad that it works for you! I know a lot of people who love it but my second box wasn't much better, unfortunately. ❤️
Totally agree with the affordability for the everyday person. It's all a matter of priority. For me, I want to save money. But guess what--I do get organic, excellent quality ground beef (maybe not grass fed/finished, but still)! I shop the clearance and I can get a pound of it for $0.99 which is unheard of in Los Angeles! I never buy full price unless we are totally out, I plan my meals based on the bargains I am able to pick up and we are well fed, our budget is not hurting, and it's healthy. 😁
Grass fed, humanitarian treatment were important to us, so we tried Butcher Box twice. We were not impressed. The beef was so tough & chewy I truly question the ethics of this company. We’ve eaten grass fed for a number of year but recently moved out of state. I thought it was a fluke, so I changed the cuts second time around and same issue. Tough, tough meat and I’ve cooked for over 40 years, I know how to tenderize meat, though I shouldn’t have to tenderize a filet. Awful experience!!
Definitely ballin on a budget around here, always been hesitant about the pricing on the butcher box as well as I looked into thrive market but I still just stick to Walmart. Occasionally Publix for buy 1 get 1 free deals
They never pack with dry ice! Had scallops completely thawed! The beef tastes like nothing, I think it’s old dairy cows cause the fat has a yellow color. Not worth it at all.
Beware!!!! Butcherbox is awful. They beef steaks are disgusting and not consistent. The bacon is so salty couldn’t take a second bite. Customer service is the absolute worst. Wait until u open flatiron steaks- there tiny-

Exactly!!! As a family of 3 it really does not make sense for us.

Woo-hoo! Woke up this morning in ketosis! Happy Dance! Happy Dance!
I totally understand! I shop the sales papers!
Congratulations!!! 💃

Yes! I definitely buy it when there is a good sale.
Very honest review,I am on the fence about butcher box especially for the price.Thank you
You are very welcome!
You did a great job. I totally agree with your review
Thanks so much!
The meat starting to thaw is unacceptable. It should have been frozen solid. I ordered a box and mine was frozen.
I wondered if that was normal or not. My second box also had thawed. I unsubscribed from it after the second box.
You paid approximately 10.00 per pound for chicken breasts and ground beef and some other junk.
Yeah, not worth it in my opinion.
Thanks for the review!
No problem!

I see exactly what you're saying here. It was not worth the hype to me, sadly.

I had high hopes but I just can't justify it to fit in the budget!
Was thinking of giving them a shot. Not with that horrendous packing. Where is the dry ice?
It was definitely not good. I didn't see any dry ice just ice packs, if i remember correctly.
Yes it's about the money. Maybe look into buying direct from the producer
It absolutely is! I should try that. I love going to the local butcher but that is also pricey.
If you buy direct from the farmer beef goes for 2.50ib hanging weight you pay processing. Hogs are 2.25ib hanging weight

Oh my. That's not good at all!
Great review.
Thank you!
😍
I think if you got all scallops and salmon it could be worth the price, but not for the rest of the meat if your don't mind cheaper cuts
I could see that as well. I'm not a huge seafood fan, but that could be a good way to go!

Would love to hear your thoughts after you've tasted the meat.
My favorite was the bacon and steaks that we got. The rest was pretty good but not out of this world.
@@SimplyLibbyt Thanks so much for the info!
