    As long as you are seeing improvement each year, that’s what matters. Start what you can in the green house and BE ON TIME WITH YOUR PLANTING!!!!!😊

    We converted to raised bed gardening and have never looked back. Some containers for mints, Chard etc, and a trellis for climbers. We mix our own soil (square foot gardening method) and use good quality weed mat. We use a lot of our Comfrey to make "tea" for feertilizing as well as bone meal and blood meal also. Hoops when we need to protect our beds. Don't give up. Grazon could very well be the culprit, especially if you are using hay for your gardening etc. Research a method that will work "with" your area. Works for us old timers. Blessings!

    I’m so sorry you’re having problems this year. I can see you had a beautiful garden in the past so I’m sure you will turn things around. I have one bell pepper, several okra plants and lots of cherry tomatoes growing. That’s not much but it makes me happy. What I’m most proud of is how I have trench composted and transformed the soil over 6 years. When we sell our home next year, I will be happy knowing someone can dig easily in the beds and I have made life a little easier on them. I wish you well!

      Well, that is awesome. Okra, tomatoes, and peppers what every garden needs. Your new owners will be happy 😊

    Find a cattle farmer and ask about couple trucks of some really good composted manure, add it to your garden enough to raise your ground by at least 4 inches, every year dump more on. Do it at the end of summer, so it can over sit during the winter. Couple years your garden will be amazing

      Thank you! We definitely need to give this a try. We talked about this, but we knew we waited too late to add, so we definitely need to at the end of our season.

    I’m feeling the same way about our garden. This is year 3. Year one was great. Last year the weeds took over when I started a job. This year I planted and the weeds-grass with runners is already taken over spots. It’s got me thinking I want to completely pull out the garden we have and start over fresh next year with a weed barrier, high raised beds and thick mulch.

      Have you wantched Hedrick Kimball? He has an awesome method that I’m going to be using next year. I’m currently using weed barrier method and that’s doing really good so far but I’m seeing things he’s doing that would make it even better.

    I don't think its the soil you could send a sample to your state and see the results. I saw the other video and just not sure some of them were going to make it and I would throw those leaves on the beds and buy some more plants. I also killed several tomato plants this year just part of it take care have a blessed weekend.

    Well at least your garden is out …… this rain we’ve had our garden is still so wet and haven’t been able to get anything out! I need to get at least a couple raised bed built so I don’t feel so behind. But your right our emotions go crazy when we see others doing so well. Maybe we’ll get a break 🥰, have a super day, lisa

      I’m using pro weed fabric (sunbelt) in my walkways and despite the drenching rain we’ve been getting it’s letting me get to the beds and plant. Cardboard in your walkways, at least temporarily, would help too. ❤️ Don’t know where you are but Oklahoma has been extra crazy this spring.

    Tara I do the same thing. I buy then as fast as I. I grow the seeds and get so behind too. Life happens and so does rain. Your garden always looks nice to me. Hang in there. It’s a process and I’ve learned when it gets too much like work it takes my joy. What weed cloth is that? I need to buy new and need a better one

    Have you looked into Jadam natural gardening? Garden like a Viking channel has a lot of info on it. It’s all about building fertility in the soil. Also make sure your ground hasn’t been contaminated with a fertilizer like ‘grazon’. A lot of gardens are getting contaminated due to the manure or compost they’ve added.

    I don't know what kind of soil you have. I live in 5:12 Texas, and we have that hard black dirt that you can't plant in successfully. We plant in cheap tubs you get from Walmart, and I put lots of amendments in the soil I've bought and use the same soil year after year and just keep putting in amendments and compost. With tubs, you can control the pests, weeds, and the stuff you add to the soil, stays in the soil better than it would if it were in the ground. Hope this helps... don't give up. Maybe try it! Blessings to you and your husband!

      @ASimpleLifewithChrisTara 👋
      I got my soil at Home Depot. I add black kow manure, earthworm castings, kelp, blood meal, bone meal, crushed lobster and crab shells, Dr Earth's Organic Fertilizer for tomatoes vegetables and herbs, rock phosphate, seagull guano, compost, and in the hole where I'm planting I put a teaspoon of pure mycorrhizal inoculant by Xtreme Gardening at the bottom of the hole and set the seedling (that I started in the greenhouse) right on top so the roots are in contact with it. I feed every 2-3 weeks with Nature's Harvest (fish fertilizer) that you mix with water. Everything is organic. Most of the amendments are by Down to Earth Organics. Very good company with very good products. I also soak my banana peels in water for a week or 2 and feed that to them as well for a shot of potassium. I collect all my chickens' eggshells in a 2 gallon mason jar, and when it gets full, I use 1 cup of that per gallon of water and give them a nice shot of calcium! I wish I could send you pictures! I love my garden and always get compliments! I bought a pomegranate tree today that I'm going to plant in one of those barrel looking pots! I had a pomegranate tree planted in the yard several years back... it was a lot smaller, but my husband kept mowing it down!! 🙄 But this one is going in a pot (they have shallow roots I've found out). That way, I can bring it in the house for the winter. Anyway, I hope this helps! Blessings, my dear brother and sister!

    How much Roundup was used in the years past? Have you tested the soil?

      Good question. I hope old owners used none. We did get a soil tester.....
